Not too bad of a period... IMO.

We might see Huet in net as the 2nd begins... Abby looks like he's fighting the puck pretty hard tonight.

Now you guys know why I have been BEGGING for Rivet to get traded from this team for a long long time. He's horrible in his own zone. He reminds me of Murray Baron in the "good years".

some thoughts....

Abby is playing pretty bad.

We have to stop doing offsides.

Latendresse does not belong in the NHL right now. The guy is possibly the slowest player I've ever seen.

For a team that's supposed to pride itself on its speed, we sure get beaten to a lot of pucks.

Lats does seem kind of slow, but I thought he looked ok so far. He was the only one hitting out there.

Our defensive zone coverage is an absolute travesty - we're letting the Leafs walk all over us every time they get in the zone. Three moronic penalties isn't going to help our cause.

Also, can somebody tell Carbo than changing your lines constantly, especially DURING the game, isn't going to do anything? He had Kovalev on the fourth line, Samsonov on the second, Latendresse on the third...pick a line and stick with it for the whole game! And these weren't players caught in the middle of a change either, it looked intentional to me.

The lines are such a mess.... Carbo can't see that our team sucks since he's done all the changes? meh... everytime I come up with a rant the Habs prove me wrong.. Latendresse will score 3 because of my rant.

Seriously, Gaaaaaaaaarth is so terrible, bring up Lappy!!!

It all started by dumb undiscipline by our captain.

Aebi is shaky.

Rivet is a joke on skates.

Pleks should be demoted to the 4th line.

Even if he is slow he's hitting out there and I'd still take him over Murray in the lineup.

I guess that's what happens when our 1st line gets that kind of even strength icetime:

Koivu (1:57)
Higgins (2:11)
Ryder (2:22)

Abby was weak on 1 of 3 goals and you say he;s playing bad?

The first he had no chance, the puck was stopped on the way to the net and picked up in the slot.

The second..explain to me how the Leafs had 3 guys at the blue line, 1 guy totally out of the play but still Tucker managed to win the battle and get the puck to the point where Kaberle let a screen shot go.

3rd...Rivet messed up but it was still weak by Abby.

Montreal is not skating, they lost every 1 on 1 battle

yes but sometimes your goalie has to come up with the saves to bail your defense out.

Every shot the Leafs had I was afraid it was going to go in.

Sometimes I don't have much confidence in Abby.

I'm stunned by Rivet's play along the boards that directly led to that goal. It's like he was afraid to go into the corner. Jeesh!!!

What the hell is wrong with Garth Murray anyways?

The guy has been horrible so far this season. May be strong words but his play right now should land him in the ECHL.

Don't have much choice when you play half the period on special teams...

I agree with that...but Abby looks off his game tonight. His rebound control is awful and he's going down way too fast...he really doesen't look "on"

Agree. He was so much better last year.

Abby scares the hell out of me with those massive rebounds. He reminds me a lot of Theo: great reflexes but huge rebounds that come back to haunt you. Maybe it's just me but I prefer the less acrobatic, postional play of "sponge" Huet.

If Lats look lost out there by some opinions, I don't imagine what's the right word for Murray. He may have to build some confidence but we can't have too many of those guys with the team, send him with Dogs, he'll clear waivers no question, if he doesn't I don't care. I would be more worried to lose a guy like Ferland if he's called back. But to have Begin play wings, I agree that Lapierre might be the best call-up.

He doesnt look at his best, I agree, but to say he is playing bad and Huet will be in the 2nd is just wrong. He has been on the bench since last Saturday, I think he needed a period to get back at game speed, He will be solid the rest of the game.

If we get our legs going, we'll be back in the game in no time.

DISCIPLINE, stay out of the box, let Higgins, Ryder and Koivu work their magic,
