Is this true? For some reason I doubt the jets sign him, given that he will not be at the development camp
I thought he stood out at the Development camp last year and looked really good in the NCAA final as well. I think he has NHL potential and it would be a mistake if they did not sign him.

For the life of me don't know why Strome would be rated that much higher than Scheifele, their Junior production is almost identical..

Done. And I voted for Scheif, Huff.

But I'll be honest, I thought long and hard about selecting John Gibson.

Nichushkin and Monahan leading that poll? Hmmm. Shiny new toy syndrome?

He is a bit flashier player and I think that appeals to the HFBoard crowd

Gibson would be a great choice.

I voted for Hampus Lindholm. Guy had a wicked AHL year and has done nothing but impress. Scheif's our boy but its tough to put him ahead of Nichushkin for forwards, Nich was a top five talent this year.

Hampus Lindholm I can see. Quality prospect, contributing in the AHL, no doubt.

But I'll wait for Nichushkin to either play better in the KHL (by putting up decent points) or actually contributing with the Stars, before I consider him a better prospect than the others on that list. Not sold on his game, and is too inconsistent to me.

Edit: that said, Scheif has a lot to prove too. Lidnholm and Gibson, might be the better prospects right now.

Just a heads up that Eric Comrie will be one of three players to join me in studio tomorrow morning from 11am-Noon MST.

Feel free to tweet in a question for him (or Brandon Magee or Colin Smith).

Bill Comrie......Mike and "ERIC's" dad was sitting right by where I was today. Must be fun to have a kid trying to break into the NHL.

I e-mailed Tim Campbell from the Free Press the other day about JST. Tim said JST declined his invitation to the prospects camp.

Might have to do with NCAA rules if he wants one more year of uni

They have to pay their own way when they are NCAA kids so who knows, maybe financial issues or something of the sort.

You think he'd be bored by it by now

Also, I think you meant Eric (even though he of course has a son Mike )

I was just watching an interview with Scheifele and he said he is up to 193lbs already his body structure will not be an issue as he will continue to grow Ladd is 200 lbs and think they have similar builds. He said he has been working on stability and balance and that he already feels improvement over last year, from the practice sessions I watched I have to agree it is much improved I could see him putting on a couple more pounds before the summer is done and come flying at training camp. One of the things I noticed with Scheif is he wears tight or small equipment and it definitely skews how big he is,my point being his biggest issue is to keep developing his core strength and leg strength because the rest of him is nhl ready.

If Trouba doesn't make the Jets this fall, can he be sent to St. John's or would the Jets have to send him to the CHL team that owns his rights?

Does anyone know if Petan will have much talent surrounding him in junior this year, or will most of it be moving on to the AHL and NHL?

Rattle will probably move on, not sure about Leipsic. I'm assuming Jones will land a spot with the Predators. Not very versed in the western teams, I must admit.
