Klefbom - Fedun give this pair top, tough minutes. 23 mins a night. Fedun showed he can handle it

Marincin-Davidson give them second toughest. Davidson looks promising and marincin played lights or last year

Musil- gernat soft, easy minutes

A grand total of 3 years of pro experience on the blue line, that won't fly in the AHL.

Maybe it will, but since Klefbom will probably take a spot with the Oilers, there will be a a spot for a veteran AHL player in a prime role.

There will definitely be a vet in there. They can't run with that many young guys.

Looks like OKC signed a couple of veteran wingers.

Matt Ford and Derek Nesbitt.

Around 800 AHL/ECHL games of experience between the two.

I can pretty much guarantee Musil and Gernat start the year in Stockton. Not a whole lot of room for them and they're rookies, they'll have to earn a spot most likely.

Although Hamilton is listed as a left wing, I wonder if this indicates the team expects he might be up with the Oilers this year?

Both guys seem like solid depth soldiers for the Barons this season and they will need some veterans with Cheechoo, Tyrvainen, and I believe Josh Green heading elsewhere next season.

Signed Austin Fyten.

Good signing I guess...

I like his size and PIM in Lethbridge.

Welcome Condors?

Quote:
In March of 2011, the Condors held "Charlie Sheen Night" which garnered national media attention as one of the best promotions in minor league sports history. The night, based on the antics of the Two and A Half Men star, offered fans free admission with proof of a clean drug test, Tiger Blood Margaritas, Charlie Sheen heads on sticks, and if anyone had the money, they could buy the team for $2 million dollars outright. That was Sheen's annual salary for the show he was eventually fired from.

In 2012, the Condors offered Canadian pop-star Justin Bieber an entry level contract, stating that "he has some hockey skills" which received worldwide notoriety and publicity.[7]

Fyten is Condor depth... can step up to play in OKC if we need him but is an ECHL first liner through and through... shaping up two good teams

Erick Lizon

Denis Grebeshkov-Philip Larsen
Brad Hunt-Martin Marincin
Oscar Klefbom-Taylor Fedun
Brandon Davidson

Bachman
Roy

BAK

Brett Lyon-Travis Ewanyk-Cam Abney

Joey Leach-Erik Burgdoerfer
David Musil-FA (ECHL)
Martin Gernat-FA (ECHL)

Tyler Bunz

Don't think it's very likely that either Larsen or Grebeshkov get sent to the AHL unless their play is catastrophic. Burying Potters contract would be much more reasonable than Grebs.

I am thinking they are assigned to OKC right off the hop and it would take a miracle for that not to open happen if you look at our D situation... tell me what team is claiming a 29-year-old #6/7 D four years out of the NHL and making $1.5M... it is a poison pill contract for a spare D pure and simple... Larsen is a bit more dicey... but teams are rarely in a position to make predatory claims during/after training camp which is when this would happen... most teams are doing the same thing at that time- waiving guys to pare down their roster... the need or opportunity to bring in a new body simply is not great enough... especially not at $1M for an undersized unproven d-man who has never had more than 11 points in a season playing soft competition

Now yes you are correct... one or both of Grebs and Larsen could prove worthy to stick around... MacT has signed so many D because he wants the best to win out... if they stand out in camp they make it plain and simple... in that case both Klefbom and Belov start in the A... and then Potter gets waived... but I would not be too sure this is what happens... Larsen is the better bet to start up here out of either of them and even then he is a #6 playing next to N. Schultz...

I don't think MacT's MO for OKC is winning Calder Cups anymore. He wants our players developed.

Still don't understand how some people have Klefbom penciled into the Oilers starting line up. That's just crazy IMO.

I think Potter is sent down and the Oilers keep 8 D with the big club.

well we have had players jump up the depth and grab a roster spot even when the odds were greatly against them. Lander probably was the last one to do it... and Klefbom is so far passing each challenge with flying colors.

seems impossible (coming off of injury, behind 9 guys in depth, 2 way contract, lack og NA ice exp) but you never know.

I see Klefbom playing half a season in the AHL then getting called up and showing he deserves to stay.
