Glad he's back. For the exception of some boneheaded plays hes a pretty effective 4th liner. Hopefully he's learned from last season.

Goons that can't play regular shifts don't get permanent roster spots. We acquired him to play against Boston and Toronto.

Well I'm not accounting for injuries here. In a magical world where injuries do not occur and you pick your ideal lineup from a complete roster every night, yeah, Parros probably plays about 20 games. And the team will be better for it. White is a superior hockey player. Glad he's signed.

Yes but Parros will be more valuable than Moen

Honestly it sounds like you haven't seen Parros play. When the Ducks won the cup Moen was on the second most important line while Parros was benched.

Laraque, is that you?

Offer moen and parros to any GM in the league at similar salary and every team laughs and picks moen 10/10. Not close.

Moen is our second best penalty killer. Benching Moen for Parros means our already bad penalty kill (which only improved when Therrien's coaching staff smartened up and put Subban more on it) will now be even worse.

Prust can play center if we play Parros which would allow White to be benched.

Moen was the 2nd best penalty killer? I guess I missed last season. Guy got scratched late in the year cause of poor play. he is not their second best pk forward

And 6 years ago Briere was an elite player. You are talking about the distant past here

Not really, last year Moen was still a great PK'er and Parros was still a plug. Year before that as well. Moen had a down year, for sure, but one down year doesn't a downfall make.

Get the feeling that because Moen's contributions don't show up in the PTS or PIMS column, people think he has none.

Moens best year was 2 years ago, he only played over half a year and had his best season In PTS . Fair enough, you cant only judge him that way, but I thought his play declined a ton last year. I hope he bounces back but not sure if he will

Nice, happy to have him back.

Over/under 10 games of suspension this year?

Parros' job isn't to play hockey and score goals. His job is to keep the opponents in check and make sure none of the goonies (Orr, Thornton, McClaren) aren't running around and destroying Gionta and Gallagher. I'd say 20-25 games is a fair assumption.

Exactly. For all of the humming and hawing about the Ottawa series he was absolutely rock solid. Plekanec and Moen are our best penalty killers. Therrien should probably try Prust and Eller for the second pairing even though Gionta is quite good at penalty killing.

Big White fan even before we drafted him, glad to see he's back. Hope to see him pick up the offense a bit though, love the way he plays most of the time but he needs to chip in more. Should be an interesting 4th line next season.

I'm happy we've got him signed, I really like White when he isn't pummeling somebody for no apparent reason, hopefully he's alittle smarter this year, as he's one of the few guys who will defend his teammates, and we need that.

I suspect there was little in the way of negotiation here. MB offered the standard 2 way qualifying offer, White rejected it as 99% of players do, likely asked for the same salary on a 1 way deal, the MB likely came back at a slightly smaller salary on a 1 way deal which White likely accepted.

Let me see...

(and disregard the order of the lines and the combos...)

Pacioretty - Plekanec - (Gionta)
Galchenyuk - Eller - Briere
Bourque - Desharnais - Gallagher
Moen - White - Prust
Dumont
Parros

() for Gionta = might now start the season.

There's room for Moen. However, with White being more of an RW and the fact that Talbot WILL play... Prust might play LW.

With Gionta out, there's certainly room for Moen.
With Gionta in... not quite sure, and might end up being benched.

I expect Moen to have a solid season next year. Not sure what was wrong with him this past season but he was just off. Not at all the regular Moen.
