Of course it was a typo. :p

He has earned the right to enter camp as the number one, but if Labarbera outworks him in camp and earns the number one job so be it. Not putting a lot of hope in that happening.

The D has the potential to be average this year. It will come down to a combination of Eakins' reputation for fostering talent combined with hopefully a surprise or two in camp.

It seemed like the goal that trickled off his mask and over the back in the Olympics crushed him. A little insight into Salo off-ice. He used to come in and play blackjack at the casino downtown. He was always quiet, but friendly before those Olympics. Afterwards it was like he was Pigpen. Still quiet and polite, but it was like he had a cloud of bad vibes hanging over his head and he was just in a funk.

It sucks that we couldn't grab an upgrade in net this summer. Dubnyk is a ship I don't want to sink with.

Interesting!... Well, never one to rumour monger, but I believe his wife ha left him before that fateful goal. Id assumed that goal was as a result of his crisis of confidence, not the cause of it.

I don't think the team has confidence in Dubnyk and it effects everyone's game.

Theres quite a few moments after a typical Dubnyk blunder when the film pans over the Oilers bench looking for a reaction. The reaction sometimes being outright disgust. I haven't seen that look on an Oilers bench this much since we had Conklin in net and that it was only a matter of time before somebody (Stoll) commented on how much it sucked.

Actually wish we had somebody with the gumption to say that on the bench now. But at least MacT stated we need to get better at the position.

confidence starts with goaltending. dubnyk doesn't give it at all. I think at times its almost better to be a consistent goalie who doesn't make the highlight reel save vs the guy who lets in ones he should stop while making the acrobat save - thats what get with dubnyk - yes he can make 45 saves one night - the next night he can look just unbearably horrible

Y'know, just once I'd like to see one of you guys actually put your money where your mouth is and do some actual research to back up your moaning about bad goals this and body language that and confidence and whatever other nonsense you feel like making up. Dubnyk let in 90 goals last season. Go do a breakdown on them all. Come up with some objective criteria for determining whether or not they were soft. Maybe let us know how many resulted from defensive breakdowns. I'd be curious to read that kind of analysis. I might be persuaded by it. All this other talk is just hot air.
