He is still looking for steady employment, that's for sure. Great sense of humor that Penner.

I wonder if he's gotten any offers form Europe - and if he'd consider them. He might well make more money over there than here

Well, if the guy would just ****ing try every 3rd or 4th game he would get his money. He's a complete waffler on ice.

I know... funny thing is that some Oilers hope he gets signed to play with Edmonton. The fans on these boards gave him such a hard time when he was in Edmonton. I really don't think he'd want to come back to play with us...

But it would be very comforting if we had him playing LW next year on the third line. Size, durability and a bit of scoring upside.

Would very much like Penner on the Pens. We dearly miss a size component like that. Tough to find the money for it though.

However, assuming LA wants Penner, even though we are extremely tight, I could see a scenario where a third team takes on Ranger assets, Kings send Alec Martinez/Tanner Pearson to Rangers, Rangers send assets to Kings, LA has enough space for Penner.

Martinez may indeed be on the block, but I don't see why the Kings would give up a promising young player in Tanner Pearson to keep an underperforming Penner.

Why would we EVER make space for Penner? Let alone trade away one of our best prospects and arguably the one that is closest to making the show? That's terrible.

I'm actually surprised Dean L. even made him an offer. I love Penner in the playoffs but he plays 15 games well in the Regular Season.

I could see him signing in Toronto if the Leafs manage to move JML's contract out. We have a big hole on our 3rd line LW. I think that

Penner - Bolland - Kulemin

would be one of the better 3rd lines in the league.

Toronto IMO needs another forward, whether it be a 2nd liner and puts clarkson on the 3rd line or a 3rd liner and clarkson can play on the 2nd line. With penner I think the lineup would be:
JVR,Bozak,Kessel
Penner,Kadri,Lupul
Kulimin,Bolland,Clarkson
Mclaren,McClement,Orr

Solid linup that is capable of making the playoffs and perhaps make noice in the playoffs if the defense can play solid. Every line has a shooter and a net presence. That 3rd line could be a very good shutdown line capable of playing against all other teams top lines
Not happening. Our remaining capspace is for our RFAs.

Penner should just embrace a new role on the Kings. He should be the new Richardson. Then not only can the Kings fit him in, he won't have to play every day. He'll have to learn a bit how to take faceoffs though.

1 year deal, incentive is he will get a chance to play with the Sedins and really cash in next year.
(Assuming he produces).

Sedin Sedin Penner
Booth Kesler Burrows
Higgins Schroeder Hansen
Weise Richardson Kassian

The most I would pay Penner is probably 1.1M anything higher than that is a big joke. He can use size and try and jam it in the net but I mean like cmon this guy can barely score anymore and I think his years in Anaheim/beginning of Edmonton were just luck or chemistry played a role.
