perezhogin appreciation thread

actually this is my appreciation to not only perezhogin but the whole 3rd line who's been our 2nd most important line as of late.

back to perez, you can see how raw he's playing and how much more work he needs but damn you can see he's oozing with potential, he in my opinion will be a boom there is no middle with him either he won't pan out he'll fringe and go back to europe or he will be a legitimate 1st line winger, though it will take time the kids soo raw.

Perezhogin was our best player tonight... Samsonov was looking out of place once again.

He's been ok this year. Alot more to come from him, don't worry.

But remember the talk here during the first week of the pre-season when to everyone he was a lazy floater and should be in the stands or Hamilton? Yeah...

Good times.

Perez was good but Higgins and Ryder were better.

I'll be the first to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with Perez, hopefully he can keep it up.

He had another strong game tonight, only a matter of time before the puck starts going in. Playing physical, too.

Really good game fo rthe guy tonight, his line with Bonk and Johnson is definitly the best after Koivu's since the begining of the season. I loved the decision of Guy to send a message to Sammy and putting Perezhogin in the 2nd line qith Pleks and Kovalev. It's a matter of time and he'll score his 1st of the season. Damn post yesterday!

Impressing you is an unimportant consideration. A number of other fans, including some who were doubtful about him before the season, are starting to come around and like what they see.

Interesting fact about Zhogy: only Bégin, Komi and Ryder are ahead of him in terms of hits!

the kid gives effort and is noticeable, but nothing comes out of it.

I just hope that if he gets a promotion he'll start producing.

perez is so snakebit. I love the way he's playing though.

And I'd rather have oleg petrov of the late 90's rather than samsonov. I didn't like this signing the day it happened and I dont like it now either. I think its preventing the development of perez and kostitsyn.

I'd rather have Perez than Sammy on the 2nd and I'd rather have Kost than Sammy on the 3rd... A waste of cap space imo.

Yeah, Alex is playing well. Skating well, moving his weight, digging, digging...

I read a lot that he's boom or bust, but I don't see why he couldn't be like a more physical Mike Johnson type who puts up 40-50 points a year if he doesn't achieve his complete offensive potential.

Perezhogin will score one or two goals in the next 2 or 3 games. He is going to get more chances and more ice time playing with Kovalev and Plekanec on the 2nd line. SO EXPECT HIM TO SCORE

From what I heard on CJAD last night, he isn't putting up points because his aim is about an inch off target so far. It was mentioned last night that he has hit a number of posts this season, last night might have been his 3rd or 4th. He's doing everything right: working hard, playing both ends of the rink, being physical, creating chances for himself and his linemates - he just hasn't got much luck with the metalwork this season. If he gets further time on the 2nd line, I reckon his confidence will be given a boost and you'll see some of those shots going in for him. Just a matter of time at this rate.

Hopefully he plays well the first half and then really hits his stride for the second half (like he did in his first AHL year).
