Of the regular PKing forwards on the Leafs, McC was the second worst at preventing shots, so that's not very good. And if you want to talk about PK prowess, Jonathan Toews was on the ice for the same number of goals he gave up while playing the 3rd most PK on the Hawks top 5 PK.
Nope. I think Bergeron should have won it, but Toews isn't bad choice imo.
Bergeron played over 3mins more on ES, his face off% was the best in the league, I think, around 10% better than McClement's or close to it.
Bergeron allowed almost half as many goals on ES and had tremendous Corsi numbers. McClement started more in def. zone but not that much that there should be such a big difference in results.
McClement did play a lot more on pk but he also allowed more than one goal per 60 min more than Bergeron.
Jay is tremendous defensive forward but doesn't drive possession the same way, which I think should be valued highly when talking about best defensive´forward. It's not the only thing that matters, but it's important one. Jay helped a lot Toronto's pk, it seems. And allowed Kadri and co for easier assignments but I think he was voted in Selke voting around where he should be.
