Nash outscored Hossa this year, but they score at a similar pace and Hossa is far and away the better defensive player. So.. Hossa.

Nash is better when he's on, but I'd rather have Hossa's consistency than a guy who's the best player in the league for 2 weeks and then invisible for 2 weeks.

If Nash used his size he'd be better than Hossa, but like I said it's consistency with Nash. Sometimes he' plays to his size and absolutely takes the game in the palm of his hand. But he gets into the modes where he plays like he's 5'3" 140 and all he wants to do is spin and dangle.

Hossa. Very good offensively and solid defensively. Nash has amazing abilities, but Hossa is just better.

Hossa is solid offensively and defensively, and Nash is known for his big body, and offensive talents.

This is a pretty hard choice, but I gotta go with the 2-way player: Hossa.

Yeah. I'm pretty surprised as well. I think at their best, Nash > Hossa. But as others have mentioned, Nash is plagued with some inconsistencies in his game. But personally, i think Hossa is one of the most overrated players in the NHL. He's a very very good player, but i don't necessarily see him as a 'great' player. Nash can be a Great player when he's on.

Very simple Nash is overrated for his flair and not what he actually does in a season of hockey.

When we look at the defensive play it is a easy pick for Hossa. So lets just look at offense which is the only way Nash can make up ground on Hossa.

Break down what they actually do not what they maybe could do. Hossa 4 ppg seasons, Nash 2 ppg seasons. Season's of 70+ points Hossa 7, Nash 1. Only thing Nash has done better is goal scoring.

Now it's close right now because of Hossa's age and injuries and may be Nash as soon as next year, but for careers it is Hossa without a doubt.

Not that it makes a big difference, but Nash has 2 ppg seasons.

Hossa due to the consistency and effort. Nash seems to get careless sometimes.

Marian Hossa is one of the top 5 most complete players I've seen in my lifetime.

Rick Nash is not even close.
