Leafs. Although Phaneuf catches alot of flak, hes still competitive with Subban.

Kessel and Kadri are better than Gally and Pleks.

Subban > phanuef
Kessel >>> galchenyuk
Kadri =< Plekanec

I go slightly towards leafs... If this is a futures, I take MTL because I feel galchenyuk will be the best player in 5 years.

For now or future?

Kessel is the best player now and Galchenyuk will probably be the best player in the future.

Now:
Subban>>Phaneuf
Plekanec>/=Kadri
Galchenyuk<<Kessel

Future:
Subban>>Phaneuf
Plekanec=/<Kadri
Galchenyuk>Kessel

About equal now but would give the edge to Montréal in the future.

The best player in the bunch is Subban.

The most promising player in the bunch is Galchenyuk.

Instead of comparing them position by position, I'd go this way.

Subban > Kessel
Plekanec =< Phaneuf
Galchenyuk = Kadri for now. I'd rather have Galchenyuk on my team, but it's hard to deny Kadri's last season. Still, if I listened to my homer side I'd give a clear nod to Galchenyuk simply based on his potential, but potential doesn't mean much if it is never reached. Not only that, but Kadri is a fairly promising player as well.

In a trade though, I don't think the Habs would even think about making that deal.

i'm not picking either teams, but why is everyone only looking at the Habs future, Kadri is extremely young still and has a ton of potential too, as he has shown this past season

that being said i think they are equal

Except when they play each other. Kessel usually tears that defence apart and Subban cant do anything about.

My goodness I'd take Habs 100 times out of 100, not even close. I'm surprised Leafs are winning this.

how is it not close? Kessel is a near lock to hit 80 points a season... If Kadri doesn't regress he projects to be a 70 point guy next year with the potential to be around 80. Yes this is going off potential but the same thing can be said for Galy. Phaneuf is still a solid defesnemn maybe not a true #1 but he's a top pairing d-man none the less. I would take Subban over Phaneuf though. Should have used Pactiotetty instead of Plekanec though who seems to be the variable as he's the only player over 30.

Subban > Phaneuf
Kadri = Galchenyuk
Kessel > Plekanec

I would like to know how Subban is better than Phaneuf. Other than scoring and if im not mistaken lke 90% of Subbans points are from special teams he has nothing on Phaneuf.

Give Phaneuf a linemate like Markov and he'd be a Norris finalist too (and he was like 11th without a good partner). Also Subban wouldn't be a Norris winner if Karlson was healthy.

How does the #1 defenseman in points get ranked 21st in even strength scoring?
Because during 5on5 his job isn't about scoring he's there to be a defender which he does a lot better than Dion "Turnover machine" Phaneuf

Habs trio, but it's pretty close. I think Galchenyuk will be a #1C very soon though and he's only 19.

I voted Habs because their players are more complete players and they'll easily be better in a few years.

The only thing Galchenyuk and Rielly have in common at the moment is that they are both from the 2012 draft. Apart from that Galchenyuk is an NHLer while Rielly is still a junior hockey player; I don't see why Rielly has to be on this list.
