Would this have been fair?

Let's just dive into the past as now it does not make sense to make this trade because the parties involved i'm sure are all happy, but let's go to last year would this trade have been a fair one?

To Florida:

Joe Thornton

To Boston:

Roberto Luongo

Yes.

Luongo > Thornton

Luongo > Stuart, Primeau & Stuart.

ummmmm... Joe Thornton does not play for Boston.

However if Joe was still in Boston and I was Perter Chairelli I would definitely pull the trigger on this one

continuing to prove HF rule 2536 - you don't need to read the post before you post a comment

As for the trade I think it is about as fair as you could really get when trading stars.

Value-wise? Maybe

Boston would probably never have done it though, as they had Toivonnen and Raycroft as goalies of the future.

I mulled over this same proposal around the time the Panthers had the chance to draft MAF 1st overall....looking back then and now, yes I think it would've been fair value.
