Agreed. This trend needs to end. There's some 5th anniversary patches for teams out there. It's a meaningless number unless its 25, 50, or 100.

I can't think of anything more meaningless than the 15th anniversary of the Nashville predators.

Half of businesses fail in their first 5 years and 75% in the first 10. Its a bigger accomplishment then you think.

Are there any other businesses that celebrate their existence every 5 years?

The NHL is not a collection of 30 separate busines ventures but rather one entity which controls 30 (or howevere many it decides) separate franchises.

To compare the Nashville Predators to Johnny Small Business is simply absurd.

This is especially true when such franchises as the Phoenix Coyotes are staying afloat in spite of their financial troubles. The Coyotes virtually have to be wrestled away from Phoenix even though they're currently a giant cash incinerator.

The Sabres are beginning a series of previews for their new alternate. Based on the the images collected over at icethetics, I am thinking this is going to be a gorgeous new uni!

Here is their new wordmark. Apparently they have just been using the Buffaslug era wordmark all this time. Also note the emphasis on gold.

The sweater collar

And the coup de grace, looks like we can be assured it will be a yellow uniform with the new/old logo.

I think it is going to look fan-freaking-tastic!

Of note...this is NOT the jersey. Just a fan made concept. Though it seems this is kind of what Buffalo is doing.

I love what these previews are implying! The colour is coming back to the league!

Also, Minnesota will be unveiling their new white uniform at the State Fair, which apparently runs August 22 - September 2.

First Wild, now Stars... it starts to feel like green is the new black.

For me there is no other Dallas Stars than these:

Well...both have traditionally been green. And they're the only two. I think that is the right amount of green. It will be awesome now that they're in the same division now too. Hopefully a rivalry develops.

Best unis in the league!

I think the D and the fill color of the star should be different colors.

And why ditch the gold trim? That'd be the perfect place for the gold: the star underneath the D.

The Stars have great jerseys. And that logo is one of the best.

Maybe the 17th anniversary of the Nashville Predators?

The new Dallas uniforms are really growing on me. They are wearing black pants, so does that mean a black helmet at home? I was hoping for green.

The colors of this are going to look a hell of a lot like the Preds IMO.
Though I love yellow jerseys, and would love for Pitt to bring back theirs, but I dream.

I do think that this is going to be a beautiful jersey, and I will probably buy one.

That new Buffalo 3rd jersey has "FAIL" written all over it. It's like they took every jersey gimmick thats started to phase itself out and combined it into one mess of a jersey. Just scrapping the navy blue and going back to royal blue would be a start in the right direction.

The wordmark is sort of cool though.

I thought Nashville owned yellow and blue. I don't like the thought of Buffalo using a yellow and blue third.

I really wish the NHL had a committee that could veto and make branding decisions. They could then say no when Tampa tries to copy the Leafs or when Buffalo tries to copy Nashville. IMO it's much better for the league if there is only one team that wears blue and white. When I turn on the TV and I see blue and white I know it's the Leafs. If Tampa still wore black blue and white I would know they were playing as well.

Well, the Sabres have been using it longer, have they not?

They've never had yellow as their primary color in jerseys

ECHL Bakersfield Condors release new jerseys, complete with metallic "wings" (on arms).

Chicago taking down "Madhouse on Madison" sign and replacing with LED signage. (But preserving it for potential return/relocation.)
