Grinder is such an asinine word. It makes me think of many things:

- middle school aged kids at a dance
- meat grinder
- pepper grinder

Not one thing about "grinder" makes me think "sub".

I cannot eat their pizza. I keep trying it every couple years and it still tastes like **** on a shingle to me.
It was way, way, WAY better when we were kids. Now it's cheese flavored cardboard. I miss it.

You grew up w/ sauerkraut, though? That's child abuse. Our au pair (German) eats that stuff like she needs it to breathe. She goes to a special store then chops it up on a mirror and snorts it.

They closed the closest pizzeria regina to me. How is that even possible???? That place should have been so ridiculously busy they had to put an addition on the building. You have to go to NYC to find better pizza. Kills me. The pizza around me is brutal. BRUTAL!! Same w/ Chinese food. It's so bad my wife encouraged me to flirt w/ the daughter of the owner of one Chinese restaurant who had a big crush on me. Just so she'd make the ****ing eggrolls and shrimp correctly. We call her my dragon lady (she's pretty hot, but all inked up). She delivered food to the house personally. Jig was up when my wife went to the door...no more eggroll fo you!!! Sucks.

Wow, dejavu.

Yeah. One grandmother was German to the core and my mom loves it. I grew really good at perfecting the art of drinking an assload of water with each bite.

I forgot what else I was going to say because the rest of your post is pretty amusing.

Like, I'll eat almost any kind of pizza or any kind of Chinese food, but as I get older i should probably start worrying more about what I eat. The kind of Chinese food I like eating to soak up alcohol from a Friday night bender probably isn't good for me.

If I'm talking Asian food, switching to Vietnamese was actually a good move. Fresher, less greasy. There's an amazing place on Dot Ave that I go at least every month. Sunrise Restaurant. Total hole in the wall and if you blink you miss it...but great food.

Pizza's been made so much by so many it's hard to find really, really good stuff. Also, to go back to something Kate said, you can actually find a reasonably healthy version of pizza that tastes pretty good. No, it's not the bar pizza type of good, but still good.

Dear Marshmont Flavor,

I always thought those letters were fake, and I never thought this would happen to me, but as I made my last pizza delivery for the evening a couple of months back, the recipient answered the door dressed in only a smile...

PS. I can see this conversation devolving rapidly into a discussion of german schiesser films.

I love Papa Gino's tho I wish there were more Papa John's around. Their crust and sweet tomato sauce are so good.

Pizzeria Regina's is a must visit at least once a year. Not a fan of Town Spa at all. Never been to Santarpios.

Just a few observations -

Oh Brother 'the movie' - so good, have seen it so many times - watch it any time its on - will mouth the dialogue when I turn away from the screen -

Pizza - my favorite is BLT and barbeque chicken - but not together. Both are what you call a foodgasm.

Ice Cream - yes please - I can be had for coffee ice cream.

and after the massive Chinese dinner I had last night - I polished off the evening with Nutella and waffle shaped pretzels. At about 2am -

as for the ya'll graphic - ya'll nailed it!!!!

I'll throw in a couple of suggestions for those in the south shore. If you like bar pizza then Lynwood Cafe in Randolph is fantabulous. Cape Cod Pizza in Brockton is good but a distant second to Lynwood.

There is also an interesting place in Braintree on Route 37 called Easy Pie. The owner is a trained chef and he has some creative pizza combinations on the menu.

Papa Gino's is a guilty pleasure. I really enjoy it every once in a while.
never had Papa John's
Really enjoy Regina's when it's fresh and done well. Sad to say I tend to like their mall version better than the original.

For a greasy NY style slice, all of the greasy NY style slice joints downtown are fine.

My vote for best pizza is Emma's in Kendall. Cracker-thin crispy crust, spicy rosemary sauce.

Well, right now I wanna run naked through the Rings Fountain and hunt down the Kickass Cupcakes truck.

What I "wanna" do almost never equates to what I "should" do.

and who doesn't wanna see a german schiesser video?

Im pretty sure it's all guilt-related. I think I'm pretty ****in' funny. Ask other people who have to talk to me and they probably have an entirely different answer.

I laughed at that, btw.

It's funny, you realize right away all of the big things you're going to miss, like friends and family. Then you think of all the little things that you take for granted living here. A lot of those little things are Bruins' and hockey related to me. Being able to hear local broadcasts every game. Being able to catch a game at the Garden. Spring playoff hockey in Boston. My men's league team in Somerville. Pickup hockey in Newton.

Boston and New England really is a great place to live. Miss it already.
Don't they have the internets in NYC? You can still listen to 98.5 over your computer/smartphone -

Little place in Somerville near Davis Square.

They BRING YOU CUPCAKES via truck.

I love this country.

I think they'll be there until 3pm. I might try to sneak out for a bit since I ate lunch at my desk. #rationalization
