Per rds.

Canadiens Montréal ‏@CanadiensMTL 18 min

Canadiens appoint Stephan Lebeau assistant coach with the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Thought it might be thread worthy..

Looks like the way to get a job in the NHL is to go on l'Antichambre.

Lebeau was a very smart and creative player. Hopefully this will balance out Lefebvre's iron fisted conservative approach.

Did Lefebvre had any coaching experience before the hiring?

Yeah he was assistant coach (responsible of the D) with the Avalanche for a couple seasons and prior to that he was a coach in bantam or midget hockey.

Seems strange that we're filling Hamilton with guys with little or no coaching experience with our most important prospect crop in a long time.

If there is one guy who knows how to score in the AHL, it is Lebeau.

This is precisely what I'm thinking. With all these guys, there's a potential buddy-buddy country club atmosphere developing.

Then again, I have no idea what Lebeau credentials are...might eat some crow at one point.

Stephane Lebeau will really make a difference to the Bulldogs Offence there can be no doubting that, Stephane and brother Patrick were phenoms together. They created offensive plays that I hadn't seen before and that's after watching hockey for 30yrs. at that time.

It's also good to have another former Hab with 9 yrs. as a Head Coach, joining Lefebrve and Dufresne behind the prospects in Hamilton. Lebeau was continually one of the hardest working players when with the Habs and probably carries that into all walks of his life. Marciano joining as the goalie coach and Riendeau as Consultant should be a great help for the final goalie tandem.

Prior to coaching, no coach had experience in coaching.
