King, Clifford, Carcillo, Nolan, how many bottom line, left shot forwards does one team need?

If Clifford is on the move in another deal to upgrade a true area of weakness, I am cool with this, if not it doesn't seem to make any sense.
Neither Nolan or Clifford have contracts, it may be an insurance move like the Schultz signing. If Dean can get everyone done and under the cap, Carcillo sees time in the press box, on waivers, and/or Manchester. If one of Nolan or Clifford aren't cooperating and he has to move them, then Carcillo fits in on the 4th line until a kid can beat him out for the spot. Add in the possibility of Chicago eating a small portion of his salary, and I can see the logic. Lombardi could be on a completely different page though.

Then the return would be far greater.

Like a pack of warm gummy bears or what the Winnipeg Jets got from the Detroit Red Wings for Kris Draper.

**Don't forget Chicago needs a Center. LA: Wants big body's.

LA:

Lewis
--
Nolan

Blackhawks:

Carcillo
--
Mac Carruth (G)

Possibly a suggestion.

LA: Has to many 3rd/4th liners. Getting Carcillo will bring more grit to the lineup. Moving Lewis wont be much of a loss with Vey,Pearson on there way up. Nolan wont be much of a loss for the Kings either. Bringing in Mac Carruth will be a good choice, He's a good goalie he looked very well for the Portland Winterhawks last season. And im sure he will have a great year in the AHL next season.

Blackhawks: Get a center who might not fill that 2nd line there looking for but he is underrated for sure. He brings tons of speed to the lineup and he can dish in some numbers on the 3rd line. Bringing in Nolan will bring in more grit to there lineup, and another big body. Losing Carcillo wont be much of a loss for them. He didn't play much due to injury's and other reasons.

Overall this trade would be pretty even.
The Kings are not trading Trevor Lewis.

And why's that? He hasn't had the opportunity to show what he can do. He's been stuck on the 4th line. And then he also gets flipped around line, to line. If he sticks to the 3rd line along side of Stoll, Frattin something like that and build some chemistry he will put up numbers as well. He's a great two-way/Power forward. He brings tons of energy to the lineup, and he also can and will put up numbers as long as they stop moving him line to line. Players lose chemistry with other lines when they get moved around.

-Moving him would not be a good thing at all. If you actually know how his style of game is and see how much potential he has. You wouldn't be saying this.

I get it, its sarcasm, but I sent him my e-mail anyway, as well as another guy did.

The only thing I could see is if we are having contract problems with Clifford, but even then we could call Andy up and not have to waste something on Car Bomb. I'd trade King before I trade Clifford.

Watch him go to Montreal for Louis Leblanc so we can all sit here puzzled yet again as another right handed center/right winger is added to the roster to be showcased next to the 9 defenseman.

I am sure Clifford is not asking more then 2-3 years worth 1.5 million dollars he knows what hes worth and what he deserves. And i know it should be around that. That's not much money

I'm sure it would be a nice return, we're not just gonna get crap for him.

He hasn't been stuck on the 4th line at all. He was moved up multiple times this season and couldn't do the job. The Kings have tried to give him opportunities. Furthermore, if Clifford is asking for a 7 figure contract, we'd be tying an awful lot of money up in fourth line players. In addition, we're in need of a spot to get Tanner Pearson in the lineup sometime soon. King is paid less than what Clifford will be paid and should be playing in a fourth line role. So they'll move him down.

The pugilistic nature of his game has been neutered by being dummied multiple times, so he does carry some risk to giving him a contract and for the team who trades for him. I know what his style of game was a year and a half ago, which is the player people are enamored with. It's not the same game he has now. He plays with less energy. Calling him a great power forward is something else, he's a 14 point player who has some potential, but nowhere near top six potential. But if trading him opens up a spot for a player who has top six potential, and allows us to move another player down in the pecking order, then come on. Easy trade to make.

But we don't know if Andy can hack it. That could be the plan, but picking up Carcillo gives Dean another option if for whatever reason Andy isn't ready for the role. Dean loves depth.

Carcillo makes us tougher, and stupider at the same time. Hell, even auto correct doesn't like the deal, kept trying to change Carcillo to Carrot every time typed it.

Things usually don't make sense when you don't have all the information, let alone any of it. Kovalchuk retiring from the NHL made no sense at first. Then we got more information, and now it makes sense, even if one doesn't agree with it.

So if something happens with Carcillo and/or Clifford, there will be a thought process behind it. We don't know what that is yet, and nothing is official anyway.

They don't equate. Kovalchuk's retirement was a news release that hit everyone like cold water in the face in the morning.

This is, so far, a bull **** rumor that has no confirmation.

This is a very good point. Assuming this is true, that puts Carcillo with Clifford, Nolan, Stoll and Fraser on the bottom lines.

Not exactly hockey's version of the Rhodes Scholars.

Carcillo is barely an everyday player at this point and barely plays in the playoffs.

Just proves that Westgarth really was the brains of the bottom lines.
