I'm fairly anti Walmart but I don't begrudge anyone that shops there. They DO have low prices so I understand why. I just can't get behind their business/labor practices. That in no way makes me better or worse than anyone, just a personal choice.

I'll admit that I do buy some random items at walmart each month (cleaning products, toothpaste, skin care products, etc) and I found that it's a good way to save $50-100/month.

Giant Eagle price gouges in general, but especially when it comes to those types of products. If I can drive 2 minutes away and get the same product at a fraction of GE's prices, I'm all for it.

I loved Aldi's but we don't have any in Charleston. I need to find something similar here yet.

i was buying what you were selling until you mentioned the meat part.

gross, gross, gross. i've never seen lower quality meat in my life.

it's cool if you like a ton of preservatives/nitrates/artificial colorings i guess though. i made the mistake of buying a steak there once.. never again. tasted like rubber.

i usually only buy a bunch of the 5 lb frozen chicken breast bags and some boneless pork ribs. also turkey burgers if they have them.

ill agree its not the highest quality stuff but the frozen chicken breasts seems quite similar to the more expensive stuff sold at giant eagle and fresh grocer.

i am pretty poor/cheap so i frankly dont care much about the hormones/preservatives/strange genomes in my food. when i have an income a might get more picky, but for now its all aldi baby.

Had my brother's graduation today for his masters.

29c in Suit and Ties in a car is not a nice thing. Absolutely drained.

I won't shop at walmart because they seem dirty, shabby and gross. I went once and felt like I should be hosed down. Not the sort of place I'd buy something to eat. But I do like Costco. Good prices in bulk plus they always have one-off surprises to add an element of "the hunt."

I have never been to a walmart that seemed dirty.

The People on MTV's Catfish went on a date in my hometown. I've walked past exactly where they were in Baker Park and have been to the same farm back when I was 6, too

Agreed. I grew up on ALDI and they have some great deals, but their meat is something I wouldn't buy (even if I ate meat).

Huh, I don't know. Either we go to different walmarts, or we have different opinions on what dirty is They aren't any different than any other grocery or retail stores I've gone to

Likely different WalMarts. I exaggerated a bit. The Walmart I grew up near was clean but most around me now are fairly dirty, chaotic, unfriendly places.

The difference in experience between a Walmart and a Target is fairly large from my experience. Then change that between a Walmart grocery area and a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods and the difference is night and day. I'm biased towards Whole Foods because my wife and I work there and I believe in what they do. Their prices are obviously higher, but I believe you get what you pay for. Food is one thing I have prioritized in my life to spend more money on. Just a personal thing.

I'm fairly cheap when it comes to cars, technology, etc.

Apparently Walmart in Latrobe, Mt Pleasant and Charleston are good ones then.

also, I'm cheap about everything because I don't really have a choice.

I just had a 5 minute conversation with the manager at walmart about the Penguins. In south carolina. I was standing in line and he just says "you can't be happy with the 3rd and 4th lines" and I had no idea what he was talking about. Or if he was even talking to me. Then I realized I had a Penguins shirt on and he was looking at me like I was supposed to respond

You're in Charleston, Ogre? I just applied for a job there. I probably don't stand a chance at it, but still!

Yeah, my ex-coworker just moved there (to work for the same place I applied to) and she loves it already. If anything my best chance at getting the job is if they notice that we work(ed) for the same company and decide to go to that well again.

Have you ever gone to a Stingrays game? Probably the biggest draw for me is the chance to have season tickets again. Except they're a Bruins affiliate....
