Brad Boyes

Still unsigned....odd.

Was on a 60 point pace with NYI in 2012-13. Only had 3A in 6 games in the playoffs.

Who wants him?

Jersey? lol honestly the dude is terrible and the only reason he got points was piggy backing of off JT.

I know some Isles fans said the same thing about PAP (I was not among them; though it was partly true his first year) but it's totally true this time.

Ah, Boyes. No one makes you want to pull your hair out in utter frustration more than him.

Great at shootouts, though!

His rep and Snow had extension talks. I would guess the isles tried getting him to sign another one yr deal, while Boyes wants the security of a longer dral.

As I've said in other threads, I wouldn't mind Ottawa taking a look at him for a bottom 6 role.

That's just it though, he's not good in a bottom 6 role. He's a secondary scorer, not much of a checker at all.

Correct, he's not good in the bottom 6 or top 6 role. He's no good.

How did he ever get 40+ goals that season?

i think he did better when he was on nielsen's line, he was put on the first lin because KO and JT dont have chemistry

He was great on the powerplay from his spot, but everyone adjusted to it.

If he'll sign for two million or less, I wouldn't mind him on a line with Ribeiro in Phoenix.

You aren't terrible if you put up a 40 goal season, and you aren't terrible if you are on a 60 pt pace.

I understand that he isn't worth the contract for your typical player who puts up those numbers.

I think the problem maybe that he wants more than a 1 year and that he is probably only worth 3M per year giver or take. He probably wants closer to 4 or more.

He would probably work well with teams like calgary, winnipeg, florida or nashville who need some offense yet have too many holes to fill to worry about needing him to be a complete player. He is a professional stop gap.

He wouldn't last past Christmas on the Predators. Barry Trotz would have him waived due to his lack of two-way play and unwillingness to play the body.

I've been thinking for a while that he might be a good fit on the Jets to replace Burmistrov.

Ladd - Little - Wheeler
Kane - Jokinen - Setoguchi
Frolik - Boyes / Scheifele - Halischuk
Tangradi - Slater - Thorburn

Our current centers are a RW playing 1st line C in Little, a washed up Jokinen and a rookie in Scheifele.

Tried playing centre in Buffalo. Didn't work out so hot.

Im too lazy to dig up the thread/story on it but much of the superstition is that once his stick maker tanked and stopped making his sticks(that he used in his 40 goal season) his production fell each and every year when he had to use a stick he wasnt used to. Terrible excuse I know, but interesting none the less.

I thought he was mis-used and underrated to an extent in Buffalo and is worth 1 million to whomever gives it to him. Great in shootouts and a team player albeit a soft one.

I wish him the bst
