Didn't Postma just hae a good showing in the AHL? Not saying that makes him worth more than whatever his previous value was, but perhaps it'd be more worthwhile for WPG to consider giving him a shot then trading him for nothing

Can't we work Bogosian into this somehow?

He's been good in the A for about 3 seasons now, 3+ SOG per game, averaging .7 PPG. Had an ok year this year in the NHL. Good offensive game, reads the play very well and knows when to pinch. His defensive game could use some work, he seems to get beat wide. He's already a bottom pairing PP specialist, but has potential to move up to the 2nd pairing.

With our severe depth at RHD, we're probably looking at moving one of Redmond or Postma.

Seems to be fair value for both sides.

Flyers have a log-jam at forward position. Noebels could grow into a solid 3rd line PF but will probably never get a real shot with the Flyers anyway.

Postma needs to improve his play without the puck but moves the puck well enough to get some consideration as a 3rd pairing PMD, especially with Ghost being at least 2 more years away from being NHL ready.

Rather use Postma as part of his package.

It's true Winnipeg could trade him as they already have enough offense coming from the right side of the defense and Postma could actually put up quite a lot of points if he got PP time.

Overall we just don't need anymore 3rd liner prospects or low picks. Rather see him packaged up for a more legitimate player.

That's a pretty big jump for a proposed minor deal involving a couple players on the fringe. It's no different than asking if Voracek or B. Schenn can be worked in.

So... upgrading from a 5th to a 2nd probably wouldn't get it done?

Never heard of Noebels. His stats don't look enticing enough to drop Postma. A 5th does nothing.

Pretty sure that's sarcasm since every Jets-Flyers thread here seems to be about Bogosian. The next response to your post is sarcasm as well.

You never know by who jumps in and out on here, but the usual insertion of Bogo's name isn't until the 6th post and it is usually in replace of Buff.

The problem with this however, is that it doesn't come close enough to the worst Philly offer for Bogosian.

The Jets appear to be set for the foreseeable future on the right side of the defense (Byfuglien, Bogosian, Trouba), but Postma or Redmond alone most likely won't generate this kind of return. They’ve also upgraded their depth on the wings (Setoguchi, Frolik, Halischuk), and Noebels is not ready to impact anyone's depth chart just yet.

And while the Flyers are overloaded on the left side of the offense and need upgrades at the right point to compliment Schenn, it's not worth trading yet another draft pick and a developing prospect for a defenseman that has less than a full season of NHL level experience.

Just to put things in perspective in terms of a trade involving these two teams and players, the Flyers selected Noebels with a 4th round pick they acquired from Tampa Bay with Matt Walker in exchange for Gagne back in 2010. The Flyers re-acquired Gagne earlier this year for another 4th round pick, which makes it challenging to build a case that Postma has already created enough trade value to bring back a 5th round pick and a prospect.

Postma for Newbury or Manning or a healthy Bourdon or Wellwood might be worth consideration, but otherwise this idea needs other elements included or it starts to falls apart at the seams.
