My wife and I lucked out - one of her friends couldn't use her tickets and gave them to us. It was one of the best live games I've seen at the Garden.
First and foremost, the crowd was awesome. It looked to me like it was only about 50% full but I didn't hear a single boo when the Bruins players were announced. Not even for York and Dempsey.

They were on their feet after every big Thomas save, every fight and every questionable reffing call.
I wonder if this game turns out to be the one that we look back on as a turning point. Chara rallied the boys like Varitek giving A-Rod a facewash in '04. He almost singlehandedly killed off the second 5-on-3 penalty. The B's looked very timid on the first one but it looks like they adjusted well for that one, even getting aggressive on the forecheck.
There was no way that Axelsson was finishing the game without a goal. After a blown chance early in the game he went back to the bench and slammed his stick against the door in frustration. When he finally did score he tomahawked the glass with his stick to celebrate (sorry, I don't know how much of this was shown on tv).
Passing was much better last night. Lots of hard, accurate passes between players. They've definitely been practicing.
I don't know what else to say - such a high energy game from start to finish. As for Bergie & Boyes, I'd say it's a combination of two things. First, after their success last season, other teams know they need to focus on shutting them down - Bergie won't be getting so many end to end scoring rushes this year. Second is they're playing under a new coach with a different system. Maybe the game plan is too structured - they seemed to make something out of nothing last season but don't seem to have that much freedom this time around. Again, keep Bergie off the point and create some space for him to skate.
