Zemgus Girgensons vs Jacob De La Rose

Two very similar prospects, who is the better prospect?

Girgensons. At this point I'd say it's by a country mile.

As a Habs fan who loves JDLR, this is the right answer. Girgensons is a fantastic prospects who's already proven more and with far more offensive potential.

Really like De La Rose but Zemgus Girgensons by a huge, huge margin. By this time next year maybe even sooner Girgensons will be one of the biggest flavor of the month prospects out there.

I like Girgensons over Grigorenko right now if that is telling you anything.

Girgensons and its not very close actually. JDL is very raw and has a lot of improvement to do to catch up.

Yeah, Girgensons. I really like de la Rose as a habs fan, but he would have to prove a lot to be taken ahead of Girgs. A lot.

Girgs is just doing everything right, right now.

He got thrown into a men's league at 18 last year and came out the other side with people saying he was the best player on the ice for the latter part of the season/playoffs. This was after looking, well, like an 18 year old coming into the AHL directly from the USHL.

Dude is a vocal leader at camp and on the ice. Loves to hit and plays a physical game first.

He's my top prospect in the Sabres system right now.

Yes. For me it's:

Girgensons
Grigorenko
Armia

Zadorov

In that order.

Yeah I've been really happy with the last 2 drafts. I flip flop with putting Pysyk in over the 2 new defensemen.

Wow you like your offensive players more than the D, that's quite obvious.

My top 5 are

Girgensons
Risto
Grigorenko
Zadarov
Armia

He may, although, I'd prefer to see him in the A for at least another full year.

He's going to make it a very, very tough decision for the coaching staff at the very least.

I also think I'd have Girgensons no. 1. The strides he's made and the competitive nature he's shown are off the charts. To be no. 1 in a consensus top 5 prospect pool is pretty solid. He's sort of become the great hope to usher in this culture change and new mentality we all want.
