Bollig with his simple game manages to be a minus for the Hawks/Hogs every single year.

Brandon Bollig(12-13)
Rockford: 35 games, 5 goals, 4 assists, 9 points, -1
...35 games, 0.1428 GPG, 0.1142 APG, 0.2571 PPG
Blackhawks: 25 games, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, -1
Playoffs: 5 games, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, -1
...30 games, 0 goals, 0 assists, 0 points, -2(Hawks reg+playoffs)

Kyle Beach(12-13)
Rockford: 66 games, 16 goals, 10 assists, 26 points, +1, 204 PIMs
...66 games, 0.2424 GPG, 0.1515 APG, 0.3939 PPG, +1

As long as Beach is willing to stick up for teammates I don't see any reason he couldn't win a spot over Bollig. Bollig is like the worst player in the NHL. Definitely one of the worst in the West. Even guys like Ryan Reaves put him to shame. Beach may be a spot picker but for 500K more per year than the AHL I'd bet he would know his role and drop them more often. He did have the most fights on Rockford other than Bollig last year. In 2010-11, Beach had 11 fights and Bollig had 13.

I think anyone is better than Bollig. Sign an enforcer for less than 800k and he could probably win more fights while maybe even putting up 1 single point...never know.

As far as Beach being a left wing not right wing, big deal. Probably the easiest position transition there is especially since he isn't known as a playmaker. Way easier for him to get out of his own zone on RW than the off wing, which may be an aid when playing at the NHL level.

He played RW almost exclusively this past season at Rockford.

Maybe? Just maybe?
Don't you always rag on people for saying what if?

Yeah, but I'm not pulling for him, just asking the question. Might he be a dark horse to make the club?

Trade a fourth line winger and nobody cares. Re-sign our fourth line center and everyone loses their minds!

Sounds like Bickell & or Buff if you ask me. His numbers pretty much mirror Bickell's in Rockford at the same age.
