Well, seeing as I'm near the top of the list...

Nah, you should just see how your progress is going by, say, the end of August. I don't think it's worth releasing them until there are enough to make it obvious that it is a theme.

If possible may I change from Aliu to Lance Bouma since Aliu is no longer with the Flames?

So, be honest. On a scale of 1 to 10, how jealous are all of you that I managed to snag Chad Billins?

Low risk, high reward, I like this move a lot tbh.

Gonna have to go ahead and give it a 7.5, not sure I would have had the guts to follow through.

The guy's going to put up a ton of points again, most likely. I mean, he'll do it in the AHL, but still... we'll probably see him in the NHL toward the end of this year.

Hard to say. We were able to with Cundari this year because of the Bouwmeester trade. But you would have to think he will be in a fight with Ramage, Wotherspoon and possible Breen and Cundari for a call-up

I can definitely see all of them getting a look if we are out of contention. Revolving door style.

Did they lift the limit on the number of recalls after the trade deadline in the new CBA? If not, they won't be able to because it is limited.

Last year, didn't we pretty much have the entire roster of both the Heat and the Flames called up at the end of the year? I remember that Nashville game, where we pretty much supplanted half of our NHL roster with AHL guys.

Or would it be effective as of this season? That would be kind of odd.

Those were pretty much all injury recalls. We had alot of rookies because the veterans were dropping like flies. Then the AHL season ended earlier than the NHL season because of the NHLs late start, which won't happen this year, so then all recall rules were off since the AHL season was done.

That would explain why it took us so long to call up all of those players. I didn't realize that the end of the AHL season in and of itself removed NHL roster limitations. Still, though, I have to assume that many of these guys who we'd look to rotate through the lineup would be waiver-exempt, right? Breen, Billins, Cundari, etc.?

The deadline removes the roster limitations. But the AHL season ending removes call up limits after the deadline.

Twelveteen. Only because every time I see the name Chad, I think of this:

Psyched about my Chad Billins avatar. Trying to come up with a nickname for him...

COSBY!

Because Bill Cosby, and it sounds like Crosby, since he's going to be awesome.

Chad Billins will now be referred to as Cosby, or , "The Cos".

To be frank, I "acquired" it, busted it open and extracted all the assets to Photoshop, so I could build custom stuff.
