Looking at this replay from yesterday...really wish they would focus more on live action with players rather than all of this commentary and past highlights.
Feel like those of us taking the time to watch this are trying to evaluate the players during the drills and see how they look in practice, not watch highlight videos and draft day recaps.
Sorry for the rant
I agree. While I like some of the interviews and things like that, I don't want to see highlights or other things I can readily find on youtube and other sites... I want to see more action even it's just practice drills.
Canes coach Kirk Muller said Lindholm appeared to injure a shoulder when he was knocked into the boards at PNC Arena. The Swedish forward immediately left the ice for treatment and Muller said he later left for further evaluation.
"Hopefully he'll be OK," Muller said. "I think it's a minor thing. They're saying he's tough, so he'll be OK."
Of course Muller also said Skinner didn't have a concussion, the two times Skinner had a concussion so not sure I'd put that much stock in that assessment.
There's also a big difference between a concussion caused during an NHL game in the middle of the NHL season and a shoulder injury from a prospect camp 2.5 months away from the beginning of the season.
The only reason this bothers me is because it MIGHT effect the pleasure of watching our prospects scrimmage. Other than not being able to watch Lindholm, I condone the physical nature of practice and furthermore acommodate this specific defenseman for showing Lindholm that NHL gameplay is no walk in the park.
Another soft euro with injury problems, just what we need
i agree with the sentiments that BBA and Novacane seem to be feeling and think that the so-called "physical nature" of this at this point is premature and unnecassary. lindholm and others have been playing at a highly competitve level with men and it's their hockey skills and talents that i would be most interested in, not their ability to elude or absorb being slammed through the boards or subjected to the possibility of injury. then again if the coaching staff feels that this is the time for using their high end players for target practise who am i to say it's bs. i'm sure lindholm is very used to the routine. this and his comments regarding it provides some insight into muller for me although it could be a somewhat over blown event. i'm sure many feel differently.
