Trade Proposal for Derian Hatcher

I know his stock has fallen alot this year, but with that I think he can be aquired cheap.

Derian Hatcher is still a good defensive defenceman and I think he would be a good fit on the Canadiens.

To Philidelphia
David Aebisher
Craig Rivet

To Montreal
Derian Hatcher
Antero Nittymaki
2nd Round Draft Pick

Aebby, check.
Souray or Rivet, check.
2nd round pick, check.

This deal will get done

I don't want Hatcher on my blueline while having to play Buffalo 6 more times.

Huh... Hatcher is one of the reason why Philly sucks big time this year. Big bullies are no fit anymore in this "new" NHL. NO THANKS.

Our blueline has mobility and puck movement problems and you want to trade for Hatcher? Isn't that the mistake Bobby Clarke got fired for?

I doubt Philly would trade Nittymaki either.

NO THANK YOU

Hatcher is the slowest of the slow.
As much as I like Niittymaki... Hatcher is NOT a player we want

I was going to post the first image, but in truth the second image is more what I think of the current Hatcher.

I propose we don't touch him with a 10-foot pole.

Hatcher is coasting on name only. In the new NHL, I'd take Bouillon over him straight up in a heartbeat.

Seriously. Totally in agreeance. Why take another teams crappy D and switch it with ours? It's so stupid. It's like we give them a good goalie with a decent defensemen and get back nothing. You people are CRAZY

If this was 5 years ago I'd say absolutely. It's a shame how much he's declined...The guy was an absolute beast, used to be the best defenceman in the league...When he led Dallas to the cup he was incredible.

I think I remember reading that Hatcher is the only non-Canadian to ever be the captain of a team that won the cup...

Hatcher is a joke. I would rather have P-Trav on our blueline.

This guy's on my ignore list for being a Hab-hating troll.

That should give you some indication of his intentions here.

I just got a mental image of a Hatcher-Souray defensive duo...

At this point I guess that Philly would be glad to just throw the contract away... I want no part in Hatcher.

I think we should try and get a 10' Pole. We could play him against Chara.

The last two seasons of Hatcher have been horrible. I have no idea why a team would take him right now. Perhaps for cheap as a no7.

Niiiniiiimaaaa + Aebby for Hatcher and 1st

There ya go!

Seriously, though: does Montreal need better goaltending at this point? Why go for Nitty? (or Hatcher for that matter)
