Jesus quit over reacting It's just for the open house. It's not like they plan to keep it. I'm hoping the league let's us keep it now and then use every color of the rainbow with the words "just chill" painted underneath.

I remember watching Garth Snow give up a few one night there...the crowd was chanting "Yel-low Snow! Yel-low Snow!"

Can't remember if it was for regular season or not and a Sabres fan could probably fill us in on it but:

Here's an article on it. Used it for a Rochester-Cleveland Barons AHL game, but said that the AHL and NHL approved it.

How come so many of you get to play there? Is it a tournament?

It was being experimented with by the competition committee to improve viewing of the game.

They determined the colors did work better for officials and cameras, but scrapped it for how drastic of a change it appeared to be...
I wanna say around 05-06 ish they were throwing this idea around...

I've loved it since (the tint, not the line color changes)... and hope they allow for it in the future...

Just happy I get to see the yellow ice on Monday..

My wife called it, "disgusting."

It really is atrocious. I could understand playing a little with a slight tint to the ice, ya know, see if it increases the visibility of the puck (especially on TV) but, that....just no.

Hmm, is that just the ground beneath? It should look more muted when the ice goes over it. Still will probably look weird as heck, but yeah. The guy playing there on Monday should take some pics!

That's cool. Minnesota and NJ hold their high school championships at Xcel Energy Center and Prudential Center respectively. Must be a thrill.

This is what I'm thinking. We'll see how it really looks when we get a layer of ice over the paint.
