Would love to go out and watch a game and have fun, rather than being stuck in the house watching all the time

Are you asking me out?

I RDS it and tape all of the week night games because I don't get home from work until 6. There's no where to go and watch them though, not that I'm aware of. PM me if you want to know anything else or maybe watch some, I watch them alone too. That sounds funny.

i wanted to move to vancouver.. but one of the reasons why I haven't decided to go was

1)I have would have no employment when I move there so it'd be too much of a risk

2)housing is appearently off the charts in prices

3)I'd be too far from the habs!!!!

#3 was my biggest concern

Lots of Habs fans in the area. When they visit the Garage, there are Habs sweaters everywhere. As for a Habs fan hangout, I don't think there is one anymore to my knowledge. There use to be this place called Cafe Vieux Montreal east of Oak Street, but I think it no longer exists or it's become something else. There is another place in Richmond called Rooster's Quarters which is remarkably similar to a St-Hubert BBQ. The previous owner was a die hard Habs fan, perhaps the new owners are as well.

I usually have a couple of English speaking Hab fans over and we watch the game on RDS. Their understanding of French seems to improve as the game goes on. Is it the beer I wonder?

I just moved back from Vancouver. Habs games were so hard to come by. Also I had no tv but to get RDS would cost an arm and a leg out there anyway. I just used to stop by the Frog and Firkin' on Broadway. Sit at the bar infront of the big screen. The bartender is a Habs fan. Nice spot.

Quality of life...The mountains and the ocean...and the sushi is outstanding. Sail in the morning, swim in the afternoon, ski at night...and we get RDS.

You're right about the housing. BC means "Bring Cash"

BC Means "Bring Cash" = funny

But sadly true. I heard the cost of living is horrible out there.

Hey, that is not very nice! It's just when I was in Montreal a lot of people from the boards would meet up at le Cage every once in a while to watch a game. I never personally went but I was never alone to watch a game there either

On Oak street??? Are you tlaking about the Zizanie rest pub by the franch cultural centre cause by the time I left Vancouver (winter 05-06) they were closed.

And the Quarter's placed changed hands quite a few THE ORIGINAL OWNER WAS HABS NUT AND MADE A GOOD POUTINE. But now the new onwers use terrible fries and have no clue who the Habs are.

Basicly just check out the sports bar around you're area and ask them if they get RDS. Then Ask if they will set a TV to it.

Then Try to get as many habs fan to go to that pub.

I tryed to do that at the Hudson's landing but they changed cable package and I got the big stiffy so I ponyed the cash for a shaw box and got RDS. Luckily I had a co-worker that was a habs fan.

They're suppose to be lots of Quebecers in Coquitlam some neighburhood called M something VILLE, can't quite remember.

Anyway good luck.

There's a pub on Dunsmuir and Granville [?] - just by the new skytrain entrance - called Jester's. The manager, johnny, looooves the habs and will play every game - even if the canucks are on he'll keep one tv on RDS.

Also, there are lots of habs fans here, just try wearing your habs toque around and notice how many people say "nice hat!". Unfortunately, there are also many leafs fans.

Good luck.

I lived in Vancouver for last season and other then watching the games at home or at mcluskys house, I would go to this bar called Avanties. Its on Commercial drive in the east end. I would often show up wearing my habs jersey and ask if they could put the game on..they had a good laugh and made some fun but helped me out a ton as I watched a bunch of games there. Good times!

Hackett and Baljit Gill (although he changed his name) are both from Vancouver too, I believe.

On this forum, I've noticed that there are a lot of Canadiens fans from across the country. I wonder whether we have the most "out-of-town" fans on the entire HFBoards.
