Tough to choose between Thrower and Ellis.. I still have high hopes for Thrower and think he's being a bit underrated since he had an off year, I believe a year in Vancouver under Hay will be great for him however if he turns pro I think he'll still turn his career around.

Regardless we have very impressive depth right now with our prospects, one of Dumont and Vail will be out of the top 20 and both guys have really good chances of being bottom six players in the NHL and guys like Didier, Macmillan, Reway and Nystrom for example look intriguing too.

I've never seen him play.

Then we will defer this question to Grind'N'Muck, I think he's from Karlskrona.

Voted Thrower. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a bounce back year.

Voted Vail because I think he can be a legit third line two-way centre.

In regards to Nystrom, I debated choosing him because it appears he has legitimate offensive instincts, vision and hockey sense. If he follows a pro routine and builds enough muscle, who knows, this player can become a solid top-six winger.

On that note, anyone remember this Nystrom interview where he acts like a gangster?

Having a sure fire NHLer like Dumont this low is ridiculous. Ill credit our depth though.

Went with Thrower but Ellis and Dumont should also be in this general area.

on potential and talent alone its vail or holland... but dumont has already proven himself at the nhl level.... if talent was enough vladimir malahkov would be in the hall of fame

I have a feeling Crisp and Lekhonen will jump at least half a dozen spots when we do this next year

I really like these polls and the effort that is put into them. The only flaw that I see is that we are comparing 18-19 year old players like Lehkonen to 23 year old players like Dumont and Pateryn.

A more fair comparison would be to rank young prospects 18 - 21 year old players separately from those 22 and over. At 22 players would have had a chance to complete their college eligibility or two years of pro if they came out of the junior system. They are at a far different level of progression than recent draftees.

Damn I thought Holland and Ellis were both voted in earlier. I won't get carried away by our prospects, learned my lesson some years ago, but, I think we haven't had that much depth for a long time.
