It was last year or the year before that he hit Morrison in the mouth.
And him getting away with stuff like this has nothing to do with him being a Wing. Players on the bruins have gotten away with some high sticks this game as well.
I don't want to sound like a homer, but there could have easily been 2 double minors in that 3rd period after Datsyuk was ejected. First was Shanahan, blatantly clipping Lapointe in the head. And the Mathieu Schneider chopping Glen Murray in the neck later in the PP.
Both plays were pretty brutal. I'm sure the league saw them both, but I don't know if anything will be done. The Red Wings certainly get a lot of special treatment when it comes to these sort of things....
It happens, it can't overshadow the terriffic game the Bruins and the Red Wings played today...

bah, I meant this hockey season, of course it was last year
Yep, a perfect example of where the officials have to see the infraction...after all Lapointe hadn't even shot the puck yet......but they refuse to call a blatant and brutal infraction. Poor officiating.
How did the officials miss that. He just scored so their eyes must have been on him. They also missed a pretty bad chop to the back of the neck on another Bruins player.
A couple of seasons ago, he dropped his stick yanked a blues players stick out of their hands, shot and scored a goal, and didnt get caught. The refs are definately blind for him for some reason.
