Was the BBQ stand open? Ability to get BBQ nachos will play a role in whether or not I go Saturday

It wasn't, but Saturday will be a much bigger event than these little evening sessions.

Looking at this replay from yesterday...really wish they would focus more on live action with players rather than all of this commentary and past highlights.

Feel like those of us taking the time to watch this are trying to evaluate the players during the drills and see how they look in practice, not watch highlight videos and draft day recaps.

Sorry for the rant

I agree. While I like some of the interviews and things like that, I don't want to see highlights or other things I can readily find on youtube and other sites... I want to see more action even it's just practice drills.

Can anyone comment on Brody Sutter? Looked like a monster out there compared to a lot of the other kids. Same with Austin Levi.

The show portion from today is here: http://video.hurricanes.nhl.com/vide...=684&id=262922

Looks like tomorrow will have a 30 minute show and then exclusively show what's happening on the ice after that.

Watching Levi yesterday reinforced something I've heard about him from time to time -- nice tools, not so sure about the toolbox.

@MSmithCanes: Lindholm got crunched along the boards. MacLean pulled him off the ice, but he looked to be wincing.
Welp. Hope he's alright.

**** this. Why the **** are players getting injured before camp begins? I'll be pissed if he's out for a long time.

Muller says Lindholm appeared to injure shoulder on the hit in practice and was taken to see a doctor.

Oh boy. The dreaded shoulder injury.

Muller seems to think he'll be fine.

Quote:
Canes coach Kirk Muller said Lindholm appeared to injure a shoulder when he was knocked into the boards at PNC Arena. The Swedish forward immediately left the ice for treatment and Muller said he later left for further evaluation.

"Hopefully he'll be OK," Muller said. "I think it's a minor thing. They're saying he's tough, so he'll be OK."

Of course Muller also said Skinner didn't have a concussion, the two times Skinner had a concussion so not sure I'd put that much stock in that assessment.

There's also a big difference between a concussion caused during an NHL game in the middle of the NHL season and a shoulder injury from a prospect camp 2.5 months away from the beginning of the season.

The only reason this bothers me is because it MIGHT effect the pleasure of watching our prospects scrimmage. Other than not being able to watch Lindholm, I condone the physical nature of practice and furthermore acommodate this specific defenseman for showing Lindholm that NHL gameplay is no walk in the park.

Another soft euro with injury problems, just what we need

i agree with the sentiments that BBA and Novacane seem to be feeling and think that the so-called "physical nature" of this at this point is premature and unnecassary. lindholm and others have been playing at a highly competitve level with men and it's their hockey skills and talents that i would be most interested in, not their ability to elude or absorb being slammed through the boards or subjected to the possibility of injury. then again if the coaching staff feels that this is the time for using their high end players for target practise who am i to say it's bs. i'm sure lindholm is very used to the routine. this and his comments regarding it provides some insight into muller for me although it could be a somewhat over blown event. i'm sure many feel differently.

lindholm i assume? well............yeah o.k.. perhaps not so over blown. i'm quite sure that he fully understands the level of physicality in the nhl.

I was only being half serious about implementing physicality in practice.

The hitter should've shied away from being so physical in a situation that nobody, or at least the high end prospects, takes as seriously as in game competiviness or better yet a scrimmage.

All jokes aside, Lindholm is known for his strength on the puck and being elusive to avoid too much contact. I hope him the best on a speedy recovery.

I just don't see Rask missing this roster... He looks heads and shoulders above everyone to me... Especially on the puck... And Murph looks great too

This isn't even AHL level competition though, he should be standing out.

And yeah, if we could go ahead and sign Tolchinsky, that'd be great...
