The unbalanced conferences are unfair, the new playoff format sucks, and the new name for our division is terrible.

So... all the old Atlantic division teams are now in the Metro and teams who were never part of the Atlantic division are now in the Atlantic division. What?

Too many syllables in Metropolitan. It's a hassle to say.

Although, I just realized it can be called Metro division for short thanks to SCOREacek above. I'm stupid.

Yeah, that's kind of hilarious.

Someone on the main board had a good idea I pull for, hope there will be the Seattle Metropolitans so things could get a little more confusing

How the **** does Atlantic division work when only 3 of those 8 teams are even remotely close to the Atlantic? Metropolitan? The ****? At least 6 of those teams are relatively close to the Atlantic Ocean...

But when you do shorten it down to Metro, it sounds better.

I don't care what they call the division. I'm more concerned about the Flyers making the playoffs in that division. It'll be tough.

I think only three Metro teams will make it to the playoffs.

I guess I'm the only one that likes that we're called the Metropolitan Division.

Metropolitan reminds me of Metroplis, which reminds me of Smallville, which of course means I'm happy with this name

I'm just going to call is the Met.

It's definitely odd as far as naming goes, but I'm not seeing the outrage here. The names of the divisions are always going to be inaccurate for some teams.

And I am still a fan of the new playoff format.

The Caps and Jackets are going to have a much tougher time this year, and remember, up to five teams could make it from a single division. Out of division games are going to be crucial for wild card teams.

Yes, but if not for the shortened season, I don't think the Isles would have made the playoffs and Columbus, well the only reason they were even in the discussion was because of Bob playing out of his mind. Anything less from him and they finish lower.

Washington benefitted greatly the last few years from the weakest division in hockey. I doubt they do as well from here on out.

I think I'm more sold on the Islanders than I am on the Columbus Bobrovskys. Not by much though.

If the Flyers weren't lost in the woods last year, NYI doesn't see the playoffs.

Totally agree. Bobrovsky literally can't repeat his performance from last season. They are a growing team, so they will be solid, but it's going to be a challenge to duplicate their success without getting out-of-this-world goaltending.

There's not a single thing I like about the realignment so far, and I doubt that changes. What was the big deal with keeping the old divisions? Oh yeah, Detroit had long plane rides. Metropolitan Division just sounds dewch.
