I think a best we go 6-9 top open the season OTL/SHL counting as a loss.
i thought i was supposed to get 3 games in tampa this year?
When Florida leaked their schedule it was only 2 games. Tampa bay would likely only be 2 as well.
to play H-H with the 14-16 format:
28 games interconference(2)
24 other division (3)
30 within division (4 games against each + 2 extra division games)

Not true----they actually started the season a wek earlier than normal and it ends a week later than normal. theus the number of days for the season isnt constrained.
My schedule observations....
They have 3 different western (MT/PT) trips. Unsure how that compares with other teams.
Other than the western road trips and the florida trips they have....
4. MON/NASH (in conjunction with their western canadian trip)
they play at dallas on one of their florida trips.
they go 11 of 15 on the road before(#4,5,and 6) the season finale at home.
In terms of back to back games the worst tandem appears to be STL/DET. the others are closer travel or they are H/R R/H but the distance appears to be less than DET/STL. Other issue with STL/DEt is its going central to east..thus lose an hr. Slightly easier if it was DET/STL
When you are playing teams only 2 times you think you want to spread out those meetings. There are a few that are short.
Before their CA road trip they play anaheim then right after they return they play LA. both games done in about a week.
they do home and home series with toronto, boston, and Ottawa. Detroit almost is one but they play PHL inbetween.
i think the 15/15 conference plan had it at 6 games at one point for all division opponents... or I read something wrong at some point, and imprinted it in my happy cortex
No you're correct. The original 4 conference lineup proposed that each team would play a majority of games inside the conference of 8 or 7 teams, and only 2 games (1 home, 1 away) vs teams in the other 3 conferences.
So in a 7 team conference, it would have been 6 games each vs the other 6 teams in the conference (36 games), and 2 games each vs the other 23 teams in the league (46 games). 46+36 = 82 game full season.
