Would be a fun exercice to be in yet....would you have liked to be in a division when the name of it is....Bobby Orr? Or Bjorge Salming/Darryl Sittler? How do you really choose those names? I guess they could have made a big survey out of every NHL fan, give some names per division, names in relation to the teams involved and then may the best man win....Would a Bruin love to be in the Guy Lafleur division?

No Bruins game til December? And they're the team that we only face 4x. Interesting.

Personnally, I think it's great news. Every team sees every team at their home rink. Awesome for me. No need to see one particular team 20 times a season...We'll see them in the playoffs anyway.

16 back-to-backs? Seems a bit excessive.

Some Leafs fan was complaining about having 9.

Early September they will go on sale through the Habs website...

Man am I glad I saw that you guys had that freaking Disney on ice crap before we booked our trip up there. I was able to convince everybody in our bachelor party to push the trip back to the weekend of the 19th. So now we get to catch either the Blue Jackets (Thurs 17th) or Predators (Sat 19th).

The demand for a Saturday night game vs Nashville shouldn't be "too" high, should it? As a blues fan, I like how it worked out since the ticket won't have the same demand as an Eastern Conference rival's would and I also get to root against the Preds.

Man, am I excited!

As a sidenote, I hope that they come back to white jersey for the home team as usually the greatest jersey is the dark one...so people would see all of them at their rink. No need to see ours...just have to buy it instead and wear it.
From a marketing view this is a great point. Advertise the really "cool" jerseys on the road. Would lead to much more out of market sales.

By my quick count, Habs have 17 and Leafs have 16.

As a westerner, I used to enjoy it when the habs spent the holiday season going through edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.

I miss it.

Look on the bright side. We get the roadtrip while the season's just started, when everyone's fresh.

And I guess Briere really has no excuses to start slowly.

Also the Habs are in the Atlantic now? Does the NHL not realize that if you go with non-geographical division names you don't have to try to explain the alignments as much. In an 8 team division called the Atlantic, 2 teams are actually on the Atlantic Ocean. Maybe only one, is Miami on the Atlantic. I think so.
Miami is on the atlantic, though the city the team is in, is Sunrise Florida... About a 20 min drive north of Miami and sort of on the ocean.

Dumb name for our division, to be sure.
The "Metropolitan" Division should continue as the Atlantic and the Habs' division be the Central Division. The Midwest and Pacific Divisions would comprise the Western Conference.
But that might make too much sense in Gary Bettman's NHL.

It's so weird seeing so many games against Detroit. I keep forgetting they're in our division now.

Well if we get Lecavalier, we don't get Brière. So I suggest we copy and use "Thank you Vinny"...à la Thank you Kessel or Thank you Seguin.
