Rangers aren't allowed to play a home game outside of MSG.

10 of our last 15 games are against teams that missed the playoffs last season. That's a bright spot at least.

The division name is pretty lame though. Add 3 teams to the Atlantic division, rename it to the 'Metropolitan' division. Derp.

9 game road trip to start the season (I know, renovations)
2 outdoor games, away team for both
Last game of the season in Montreal (which everyone and their grandfather knows will be of major importance).

At this point, we should just be thankful the Rangers aren't playing 39 home games and 43 away games or something ridiculous. They haven't gotten a favorable schedule in comparison to other teams in half a decade.

No complaints... both games are in NYC, we will clearly have the dominant fan base at them... so really that's just two extra home games.

Adds a sell-out for the Devils and Islanders. Rangers will always draw well.

It's a tough division to name. The Northeast + Florida?

They're at home almost all of December, though. Too bad Drury isn't still on the team.

That is the worst opening to a season I've ever seen. Metropolitan division? ****ing kidding me? This league gets dumber every year, without fail.

Oh... dear.

So we get to introduce the players to their home fans a month in, vs Montreal.

Presumably this has to do with the renovations?

50% renovations, 50% being the NYR ()

Yep, we've known that since they announced the new alignment. One home, one away.

You're not naming a division after the conference.

Metropolitan is fine. Not great, but fine.

If it makes anyone feel better, the Devils have twice as many back-to-backs...

Yeah, they should be picking high enough that that 2nd rounder practically feels like a 1st.
