For the second or third time, Dumont. Kid is basically NHL ready.

Dumont, Thrower and Vail are the next three. After that, there's a big drop off...

Having Dalton Thrower , Gabriel Dumont and Brady Vail at 19 , 20 and 21 shows how much depth we have in the system . That's pretty crazy !

It's an amazing feeling when you have a very deep prospect pool.

Going to vote Nystrom for a long time I guess. He has a higher upside than anyone left IMO.

It would be between thrower and nystrom for me if I was going completely on upside. I haven't seen nystrom with my own eyes so I can't really vote for or against him all that much when I've seen lots of these other guys play.

This is absolutely ludicrous that Thrower is lower than 18 on this list. He had one bad season, yeesh it looks like the majority vote the same way the few think on these boards. I suppose the few is the many.

Thats sad.

Thrower for me but as long as it's him or Dumont next I'm absolutely fine with the outcome.

You tend to look for progression for players. Thrower in what should be his last season in the WHL, looked really horrible and was scratched at points. He's still a good prospect but it's no surprise to see him drop.

I'm going with Vail on this one, could become a solid #3 center with shutdown ability. If it's cool with WTK, I think we could go up to 25 with the depth of our prospects

huh?!?! how is that sad? More like its awesome. Goes to show our ridiculous depth.

Just about all our prospects trended upwards except him and LL. In the world of prospects, how can you not go on 'what have you done for me lately?'?

One bad season is pretty much like a third of his junior career. Pretty big sample size.

Well, even in his only "good" season, he didn't look that much like a future NHLer to me; certainly not as much as Dietz and Siemens.

Even in his surprisingly productive draft season he looked like one of their weaker 5-on-5 defensemen to me. Siemens and Dietz (maybe even Cox) looked like potential NHL defensemen, while Thrower simply looked like a junior guy putting up points. Being put beside Siemens, who played the stay-at-home role while Thrower was allowed to "explore the space" (no cowbell), in an injury-riddled season that resulted in defensive pairing "balancing", led to numbers that fooled many into thinking he's more than really is.

Dumont, Didier, and Reway should all be considered long before Thrower, imo; maybe even Vail. Heck, if I were voting I'd find it hard not to vote MacMillan and Holland ahead of Thrower as well.

I am really surprised that Thrower has more votes than Vail or Dumont. Perhaps the potential is there but recent performance makes me wonder.

MacMillan belongs in that group..may end up being better than Vail.

He is my next pick, I am actually shocked at how little support he has received so far.

I am just as shocked to see how many votes Dumont has been getting for the last 10 rounds or so. His upside is a 4th liner and a journeyman one at that. I don't even really consider this type of player a true prospect as their type can easily be replaced on the waiver wire. They are somewhat handy to have in that you don't have to scour the waiver wire as often but he will have zero trade value despite making the league minimum and will likely see as much of the AHL as he does the NHL. The reason for the draft is to acquire players that you would otherwise have to pay for, either with players, picks or competitive free agent money.

How anyone can vote him above a player that has a chance, even a small one of playing in the top 9 forwards or being a regular on D is mind boggling. I don't want to sound like I hate the kid as he has tons of heart and works his butt off but he truly is an expendable asset with no upside whatsoever. Small 4th liners with average skating are not exactly a valued commodity in the NHL.

Hypothetically, I am willing to bet that if Timmins was told that he had to dump one of Dumont or MacMillan it would be the former. You only factor in a prospects probability of making it in this type of evaluation when that includes his chance of playing as a regular in a meaningful role......advantage MacMillan.
