A 21 year old girl died after a branch fell on her. RIP.
Not so funny now. RIP.
I remember when Hurricane Juan hit here. I saw a transformer explode in blue fireworks and the power go. I watched a tree going back and forth until it just went forth onto my garage. I was going to go out to check on my car but my girlfriend freaked out about me going out. Another tree hit the house. As soon as it was done went out and it was so warm, was in shock at the devastation, trees , power lines everywhere. I was constantly climbing over downed trees. I lived near the main hospital and could see ambulance lights in the distance, didn't know at the time but that was the ambulance that got crushed by a tree, killing a paramedic. Bad stuff. No power for 5 days, some places 2 weeks. Don't fool with this stuff boys and girls, stay inside, screw going out for whatever. Don't want to miss that next Cup win.
Never lost power here. No need for AC either since I live close to the water and the breeze was great. I had both windows open and no rain came in. Just a wonderful breeze that was refreshing and the smell of the rain made it very easy to fall asleep.
Woke up this morning to tons of rain and felt so happy.
Said last night that I didn't see any houses with trees on them... Saw it within 15 seconds this morning on my way to work. Looked like at least 3/4 of the house was demolished. The scary part is that there was a car in the driveway under a tree too - really hoping everyone was alright.
Also saw a telephone pole completely broke off at the bottom and had fallen backwards, luckily it was on a street corner, so it missed houses. Wires were a ****ing mess though.
