Yay.

With this, the schedule for next season should come out shortly.

I agree. I'd rather they just stayed here to be honest.

I'm hoping Spezza has a terrific season, and makes TC. In the Gold Medal game, we beat the Swedes.

I mean, Karlsson on the losing team would suck, but Alfie would make it worthwhile.

St. Louis - Crosby - Stamkos
Hall - Giroux - Tavares
Staal - Toews - Nash
Richards - Bergeron - Couture
Benn - Duchene

Keith - Doughty
Pietrangelo - Weber
Subban - Letang
Bouwmeester

Hoping Eberle explodes so I can slot him in the top 6 over St. Louis

No getzlaf Perry? Ballsy move also with Subban and Letang-may pay off in the big ice surface\.

I am with you... no room for Getzlaf or Perry on my team either.

As well, hoping Ebs comes through...

Rather not take Richards, but if he is there again, I certainly won't kick up a stink.

Upsetting. A team shouldn't have to risk their players to injury for a tournament that doesn't even affect the team. Bad move by the NHL IMO.

On a big ice Russia eats Canada alive. There is such thing as chemistry. Getzlaf and Perry play years together. Same with Crosby. If he and Kunitz shows same chemisrty as last season, its pretty stupid not to send Kunitz to Olympics with Crosby.

You can fly to Sochi with Canada biggest names or with a team, who can actually win.

As a hockey fan, you're upset? Sorry but that deserves a

Also, it gets the league exposure. People see their players play in the Olympics and so they're more likely to tune into the NHL to watch them

It's the only best on best tournament in the world, and therefore the best hockey in the world. How can you not be a fan if you're a hockey fan?

Because good hockey teams are made based on team chemistry and cohesion, not stacking teams just because your nationality trains more. It's hardly best vs. best when you consider that a guy like Anze Kopitar could be a top liner on any good team, yet because of his nationality is stuck playing for a team that, at its best, has an outside chance at the medal round.

Despite worse chemistry and cohesion, Team Canada would beat an NHL team

Anze Kopitar will be there. Some teams are weaker but all the best players on the world are there. Therefore, it IS the best on best.

Because of the stuff you mentioned, maybe you prefer the NHL. That's fine. But not wanting this to take place, and not wanting great hockey to be played... Come on dude :skakehead:

It's not a matter of not wanting great hockey played. My understanding is that it's either the Olympics, or a more spread-out NHL schedule where players won't get burnt out on back-to-back games. Given the choice between those two, I'd settle for the latter. Still great hockey, but for a more extended period of time.
