not hard at all imo - nothing will top a one game letdown like last year's game 7 collapse so I'd much prefer seeing the Leafs endure a long season of mediocrity without any hope in sight

especially love the "SE Division was weak" red herring

a couple neutral posters explained why it was a bad argument and yet they continue spouting off

It's similar to the calls for the Jets to finish 14th in the East last year. The SE thing is funny: even when pointing out the record outside of that division, some people don't take notice.

The fact that the Jets played teams "similar" in nature to the Western teams (Bruins, Rangers, etc) has me feeling decent about being able to break out of that "bubble" team position.

even if they did notice, I could imagine some lame argument like "But the Jets are in the awful SE division so opponents took them lightly"

Just because the jets had a decent record outside their division
They still missed the playoffs while being in the garbage south east division

That is not wrong

True, but to dismiss the Jets because they're moving to the big bad West is a bit short sighted, IMHO.

Everything is going according to the plans set out when the team moved. One day we'll be one of those big bad teams in the West, no doubt in my mind.

When some of your top end players are Ladd, Kane, Bogo, and Buff, that is certainly a nice start.

Just like Soble posted, there are 8 Saturday home games and 15 in total. The CBC has 11 Sat. games and TSN Jets has the 4 other games. There will be 5 HNIC tripleheaders, 4 of them have the Jets in the early afternoon. It is terrible that so many are in the afternoon with three more when the Jets are on the road. I can understand the Hockey Day game, but the rest should be later.

Divisions now have much greater say on making the playoffs, but are less significant in determining who's going to be in town next week.
Nashville is still in the Central Time Zone... and it's really not that far away from St. Louis.

Yeah I doubt even bother considering making the trip done there now. I might consider taking the Thursday/Friiday off and drive down there Thursday afternoon still but I really don't think I'll bother considering Sunday day game.
