I'm not sure I see the logic in giving the 2013 winner a shot rather than just having the 2015 winner go, given how different the roster on the 2013 team could be by 2017.

Payback for Mexico passing us in BMI rankings.

No, but then again America and Mexico don't take it serious either.
Hes 34. He isn't going anywhere. I think we have him in MLS for the long haul in the same way a guy like Olave, who is good enough to start in a top 4 Euro league, isn't going anywhere. They got good too late.

Also, CONCACAF will continue to get better as MLS improves. All of these little nations will have (already do but on a larger scale) players from their respective leagues getting more attention in MLS as well a higher quality of play than is available in El Salvador or Haiti for example. We see it every GC or every offseason even..guys from Jamaica or Honduras or CR, etc. come to MLS from their domestic leagues. Some of these players see MLS as a potential spring board to Europe while others are content plying their trade in a respectable league near home. As this trend continues, the league will grow and improve as will CONCACAF teams including the USMNT. An improving MLS will also push Liga MX and the Mexican federation as a whole. As njdevsfn said, this is a very young region.

34 for a keeper is like 26 for a position player. He could easily go over for at least 3 years if he wanted. Up to him though really. Salt Lake has a good thing going right now

Maybe youre right. I just cant see him getting enough interest from a decent enough club that will pull him away from RSL. He has spent his entire career in MLS, is regarded as a top keeper in the league, RSL is a great team, he gets USMNT call ups (#3 on the depth chart overall), and Salt Lake isn't too far from where he grew up.

Money talks though...he makes a little over 200k now

He's the type of player Europa League teams try to pick up. I could see an elite Swedish or Turkish team throwing him an offer. I'd ask him personally if he'd like that but thankfully he won't be at RBA next weekend

Haha yup.

Wish I could make it but I have a wedding to go to. Im ready for them to handle a pretty depleted RSL team (they'll have Saborio back I think) and win by 2 goals continuing to frustrate the fans by being so inconsistent.

Well Roy Miller will be back so everything will be ok. I'd put the sarcasm smilie but I'm halfway serious.

This team should probably get around to signing some defensive players

my priority for the transfer window is a DP striker or wide mid and another quality non-dp striker/wide mid (whichever isn't the DP) and then some outside back depth. I think that we are fine at CB.

CBs should be fine with Sekagya but LB and RB have no depth. But yea we need another offensive threat if not 2. Obekop is growing on the little he plays. He shined in the one reserve game I saw too

Well he brings a dynamic that we haven't seen all year or maybe at all since Dane left. He can stretch the field and isn't afraid to take a defender on unlike the guys we have playing out wide now who are really CMs

I think Sam can do that too and would like to see what he could do in Steele's place. Then again I like Sam because whenever I bump into him something awkward is happening.

Sam is so inconsistent and lacks fitness it seems. There's a reason he doesn't get much playing time I think.

He seems to pick up a knock once every other month. Not sure if it's bad luck or if he's just unwilling to play sore but meh

Is there generally a cheaper way to buy Red Bulls tickets than Stubhub or is that pretty much the best route? Pretty cheap deals on there it seems.

Yea, you can find STHs dumping on Stubhub under face every game. There's also Family 4 packs and 3 game flex plans if that's up your alley. Or of course employee comp tickets. Can't get freer than that. Although they got moved to the upper deck this year

And yet we still can't get 20k in the building unless it's DC, LA or free tshirt day

Yeah, but I'm cheap, and I'd like to go to a few games before the playoffs. Figured I'd ask here first before buying because I know there's people who work there and also people who got to a lot of games on this board.

There's postgame fireworks after the Philly match on 8/17. Will also be a huge game that will start to shape the playoff race for the last 2 months.
