Rangers/Hawks

Hawks get:

Brian Boyle

Rangers get:

Michal Roszival + Kyle Beach

We could use a RH depth d-man more than a 4th line center right now, and the Hawks have a logjam at 7/8/9 D and might need a 4th line center. Beach is a reclamation project.

I think Chicago is thrilled with Rozy, and I think he'd probably rather retire than come back to the arena that booed him as a top pairing defenseman for 8 years.

The Hawks are happy with Pirri, Shaw, Kruger, Handzus to fill out 3 center positions, and they are very happy with Roszival.

In the playoffs Roszival got #5 minutes and played on the PP. No reason to trade him, especially after just inking him to a contract. Roszival also has a NMC for this upcoming year.

Boyle is pretty good at faceoffs so he may be a good option for the Hawks. CapGeek site is having difficulties right now so I can't check Boyles salary but it would have to be under $2M to have any chance of working. But with all that said I doubt StanBo would trade any of the top-6 d-men because that group was the backbone of the Cup winning team and having the entire group back is the surest of things going into 2013/14.

1.7M. Signed for 1 more season.

Blackhawks decline.

Pretty good value, but I don't think it'll work for either team.
Rozy may not want to comeback either.

not interested in moving our best F/O guy, and very good penalty killer, and very good 4th liner for a guy who probably would be our 3rd RHD, I think we can find one cheaper than that, maybe Mcilrath makes the jump sometime this year.

I like Brian Boyle, but pass from Chicago. Chicago's not moving anyone in their top-6 D.

He's still got a nice skillset. He reminds me of Kyle Clifford.

I'd rather have Boyle than have Rozi back.

I'm not touching this defense, outside of moving Brookbank possibly.

Why?

We need a nasty, tough defenseman. Rozsival doesn't fill that need for us.

Get the feeling neither team really wants this trade. Rangers don't particularly need Roszival and he also may not want to go back there, while the Hawks have a glut of forwards as it is and need to allow some of the prospects to get their chance eventually. Plus there's no reason to mess with a defensive core that was the best in the NHL last season.

I knew that was coming.

I think you forgot Dylan Olsen, too.

The only reason why this move gets done is so that Rozi can become the Rangers' board whipping boy again.

Lets play "Where's Richards?"

If you spot the real Brad Richards, you win a prize.

1 - Agree with you, I prefer Boyle too.
2 - Thanks for keeping the proposal short.
3 - Clendening is an intriguing idea, Not sure if the Hawks are open to trading him though.

They're not. Least not for a package revolving around Brian Boyle..

Didn't forget.
Instead of.

If we were def. moving BB, Olsen is one benchmark of fair return.

But I am open to add, or alternative to BB.

So before we start a separate thread, wanna suggest something, see if we are even in the same ballpark?
