All-time all world lineup.

I did this on the main board for current players. Now I wanna make one for all time players. But here's my copy and paste from the main board.

Quote:
Here's how it goes. Take 6 different countries. Make a lineup consisting of 3 forwards, 2 defensemen, and a goalie. But the catch is, only one player per country. For example, if you pick Lundqvist for your goalie, you can't have Zetterberg as any of your forwards, and etc.

Selanne-Gretzky-Jagr

Chelios-Lidstrom

Tretiak

Strongly considered using Hasek/Kharlamov instead of Tretiak/Jagr. Also pretty much ignored chemistry/proper ice side hence Selanne over Kurri.

Ovechkin-Gretzky-Kurri
Chelios-Lidstrom
Hasek

just did this on a whim, but i think i got arguably the best player from each of the 7 (6 if we combine the Czechslovaks) main countries. Plus, I love the addition of the physical net-driving game of Ovi to the already proven, but physically weak, duo of 99 and Jari. could use more size on D, though.

Pretty close to what I was thinking. Keeping with proper positions:

Ovechkin - Gretzky - Selanne

Lidstrom - Chelios

Hasek

I think the defense and goaltending are pretty much no-brainers in this exercise. The biggest question is whether you use Gretzky or Howe as your Canadian.

Ovechkin - Gretzky - Kurri
Lidstrom - Chelios

Hasek

Is my answer. I think you can go with either Kurri or Selanne, but I like the chemistry with Kurri, allowing Ovechkin and Gretzky to think all-offense.

I didn't even read your answers before posting mine.

Here's a "cheating" answer, counting Stan Mikita as Slovakian:

Ovechkin - Mikita - Howe
Lidstrom - Chelios

Hasek

Here's one that lets you have Bobby Orr

Ovechkin - Forsberg - Jagr
Chara - Orr

Brimsek

Absolutely.

Hasek, Lids, Cheli, Selanne, Gretz, Makarov

Another option would be

Hasek, Fetisov, Orr, Hull, Forsberg, Kurri

To have Orr:

Hossa - Slovak - Forsberg - Sweden - Kurri - Finland
Fetisov - Russian - Orr - Canadian

Hasek -Czech

Hmmmm what if you need a spare from the other big 7 country?

Spare - Chelios - USA

This team would be VERY tough to score on. And it would also provide lots of offence especially from the back end.

I would consider him as Canadian, when it comes to hockey skills, because he learned hockey in Canada. Of course, I assume you are thinking about Steve Thomas.

Richard Park has to be better than Philippe Bozon

Uf Uf. How many "all time rosters" will we have? And how many can we find on HFBOARDS?

Hossa-Kopitar-Balderis
Vanek-Antropov-Khristich
Sturm-Nielsen-Czerkawski

Lidström-Chelios
Streit-Salei
Tollefsen-Kasparaitis

Hasek
Huet

Heck if one goes that route add in Rod Langway from Taiwan.

Something like this, we are missing a defenseman though and i'm sure this team can be completed with a bit of work maybe in the KHL.

Vanek-Crosby-Ovechkin
Elias-Kopitar-Brunner
Ponikarovsky-Antropov-Kostitsyn
Hansen-Zubrus-Da Costa

Karlsson-Chara
Suter-Tollefsen
Bartulis-

Rinne
Greiss
