After Canada smashed the shyte out of them in 2010, maybe they re-evaluated the need for more physicality...

Patches better be on the USA list tomorrow at 10:00 am. A. Gally might get an invite as well but I'm less hopeful of that.

Pacioretty has been top-5 among U.S. scorers the last two years...he'll be there.

Doughty, Hamhuis and Subban are all legit choices. I'm not mad if he's left off.
Pietrangelo's so overrated. Now Doughty, he's a lock. Alex P. had an average season by most accounts, apparently Shattenkirk outplayed him during stretches of the season, yet no one seems to scrutinize him at all.

Why is he easily the better player than Thornton? I don't understand.

Joe Thornton has been a PPG player his entire career.

Who cares if he is younger? He isn't any more durable than Thornton and the Olympics isn't always about the youngest players. A good mix, but it's meaningless when comparing two players.

Who cares about faceoffs? Canada has a surplus of centers, and good ones at that. In almost any given faceoff there are two centers on the ice for Canada.

So you put a pure scorer on Joe's wing and use his strengths? The guy only scores 20 goals a year, but he is still, and always will be, one of the best passers in the league.

Shocked to see names like Vlasic and Methot ahead of Beauchemin.

If Canada brings Lucic to the Olympics there's a good chance he'll be captured and forced to ride a tricycle in the Moscow Circus.

Glad to see Galchenyuk at least getting an invite. This is nothing but great news for this kids development. Considering how the last year has been and then this year it gives him so much to learn from.

Goalies won't be chosen during the camp. I think whoever's hot going into the Olympics will get the starter's job.

Don't know why you're getting so defensive.

Spezza was 4th in NHL scoring in 2011-12. Thornton hasn't been Top 5 since 2007-08. It's pretty clear who the better player is right now. I don't really care about what he's done the rest of his career.

Not just Habs players getting a nod: equipment manager Pierre Gervais and media relations director Dominick Saillant on staff.

What makes you think I am getting defensive?

Well, Team Canada does. They also care what players have done on previous Olympic teams.

Spezza also missed the entire season last year. He's a total question mark.

Good for Markov and Emelin to get invited to the Russian camp, and as well for MaxPac and Chuckie for the USA camp!

Spezza didnt get an invite because after the game some of the players might want to go pick up some hot russian girls and we all know as soon as Spezza laughs all the girls will take off running
