Abby or Huet???

OK so who should get the start against the 'Canes on Thursday? I guess logically they'll go with Huet, but Aebischer has been standing on his head the past 2 games...

If Abby doesn't get the start it sends a bad message to him.

Go with Aebischer. A goaltending tandem is excellent to push both players, but at certain points you have to reward outstanding play.

I'm sure Huet wants a rematch from last season's playoffs...so I say that Carbo goes with Huet

Huet have played is best game at his last start and that was a good one. He need a start against Hurricanes, and then I'll go with Abby against NJ.

abby should be played again, keep huet on his toes, and besides abby deserves it.

What message does that send Huet who had by far his best start against the Bruins?

The media seems to think Huet was written in to be in nets for the Carolina game for awhile.

I'm not all that worried about who will be in nets. In a situation of having no dominating #1 yet, I like the alternating system.

I wonder if Huet was written in and Aebischer gets the start, will Huet be angry?

If you play better, you get to start more?

Looking at their overall stats, Aeby's doing a bit better than Huet, but not a whole lot. They should keep up the alternation. It works for the Sharks, why not us?

I do think after the team has played 20-25 games they might make a firm decision. Not yet though. Since Aebischer has started the last 2 games, Huet will probably start the next 2, unless he has a disaester his next game.

I wonder when they decide which is the #1 goalie they will try to trade the other to a team whose goaltending is struggling, who needs a starting goalie.

I think that they will probably go with Huet, but IMHO I think Abby would be better. Sometime soon I think Carbs is going to have to start playing one of them in successive games to try to ride the hot hand. Right now thats Abby. I am not saying that Huet is playing badly (hes had his ups and downs), I am just saying that Abby overall has been very very solid this season (with the exception of a couple of periods).

Just said he does not have a number one yet becuase no one has played AMAZING for 60 minutes for consecutive games. He said when a guy gets real hot he will ride him but he has not seen any of the goalies do that just yet. Something along those lines.

The right thing to do would be to go with Abby (78 saves on 84 shots in 2 games) but I think he'll put Huet.

Well he hasn't really given thenm a chance in the consecutive games department given the rotationg system.

Having said that, I like what he's done with the situation. Neither goalie really came out and took the job per say in training camp. So they are going to fight it out now. Both stay sharp.

As for the message being sent, well what message did he send to Sammy last week? Did it work? If they (the organization) had been worried about upsetting the established veterans Huet would have never gotten a chance last year

Abbbby.

Huet just hasn't looked confident all season.

Abby has in all of his chances... he looked solid in the Leafs game, especially during the SO.

Wrong message if Huet starts, we have to go with the guy who is playing well

considering huets last game was by far his best, you have to wonder what kind of system carbo is using
