Erie's are $476 for "premium" seats, and $425 for "reserved" seats. They just went up about $2 a game with the basically brand new arena, so I can deal with this price increase. I figure $425 for 34 games is reasonable, $600 seems a bit much.

Guelph's are a bit cheaper than Kitchener, I believe ($570 ish). Kitchener's tickets are in the top 3rd of the league. The biggest change to tickets in the past few years was the inclusion of HST, which jumped the prices up significantly.

well when i called to ask about wait times to get my own pair of tickets they said its still 3 year wait..even with the extra 1000 seats so dont think 600 is unreasonable according to about 4500 fans in Kitchener if not more.

Your lucky if its only a 3 year wait. I had heard before the expansion it was longer due to the lack of turnover. I got mine at the beginning of the Deboer days and had to wait a few on the "warming list".

@OTBPuckWatch 20m
96 F Nick Magyar, now a former OSU commit, has signed with Kitchener of the OHL as well. @SeanLafortune is right again

‏@SeanLafortune 9m
We had Nick Magyar 33rd overall in his OHL Draft year. A graduate of the Cleveland Barons was committed to Ohio State.

Interesting, if my memory serves correctly, he was seen as a guy that was an extreme long shot to join the Rangers. Nice to add him to the team, seems like he could be a solid player.

I believe this is the count

2011 Draft: Matt Greenfield (G)
2012 Draft: Frank Hora 9 (D), Nick Magyar (F)
2013 Draft: Mike Davies (F), Doug Blaisdell (D), Scott Pedersen (D), James Mense-Dietrich (F) but is 17 years old, Jacob Cascaqnette (F), and Mason Kohn (F)

So far they've signed (5) 16 year olds and can only dress 4. I suspect they signed Pedersen for the long term and he won't see any action this year.

Here's hoping they can get Jake Evans from the St Mikes Buzzers signed! Asst Coach Mike McKenzie (Bob's son) hopefully being the ex-captain of the Buzzers can help persuade him to sign with the Rangers!

What is the ruling with Americans who sign an OHL contract? Is the rule that they will definitely be playing in the O? Can they be sent back to play in the USA?

16 year olds needs to be sent back! (I believe there can be some type of exceptions and need to be agreed to by USA Hockey)

They can play in the USA if they sign, they just cannot play in the NCAA. Several player who have signed CHL contracts have played in the USHL.

Looks like it will be a lean year for the Rangers, but I'm optimistic about the future with all the young talent on the roster.

If these kids play their hearts out the way the 2009 team did, they won't win a ton of games, but they'll be a lot of fun to watch. I loved that team as much or more than a lot more successful (in terms of win/loss percentage) teams in the recent past.

I would agree appears to be a lean year in store for the Rangers, projection wise they
return the fewest goals for in the conf with 95 from last yrs returning players, with Teichman,Thomson and Fanelli the expected O/As,David Ming would be the odd man out
and would be dealt
But take heart Ranger fans with all the recent signings and a pretty good draft, things should not be lean for long
Coaching and management should bode well for the future too
Btw the 95 goals returning is also the 2nd lowest in the Ohl,the lowest returning goals for is N.Fallls at 84

I agree that the Rangers will be lean but I think that there is a lot of potential for this team to be a force in the future. I believe that we will see some grit in Davies, Magyar, Blaisdell and Learn. A couple of these players like to play physical also
. Should be more exciting to watch than what it has been in the last couple of years.

THe Rangers can finish anywhere from 4th to last place.
IMHO there's a whole bunch of mediocre teams in West with each team having a major concern.
If Smith can get his players away from the offence stifling systems that Spott had in place (unfortunately stifling for the Rangers) then maybe those 'goals coming back' for this year' may not be as bad.
I predict a huge bounce back year for Faksa!

I'll say the Rangers in 4th!...originally I was thinking 5th but I'm tired of facing the Gnats in the playoffs!

The Rangers will be virtually unrecognizable this year. As many as 13 new faces, which is essentially an entirely new roster. And they'll be very young, but skilled.

To me it all comes down to coaching. It's the single most critical factor in junior. And I won't turn this into an anti-Spott rant, although I could, but if you have skilled assets and don't hone them and use them properly, you get what we got last year. And if you do, we might surprise this year. The pressure is 100% on Smith.

Lots of speculation and articles written about Magyar. Randy Steinman CTV reported yesterday that the Rangers had not signed him. There has to be some glitch with this signing and the Rangers are waiting for the right moment to announce it. No confirmation from them yet.

Just like Macinnis, I will believe it when it is confirmed on the Rangers website. Until then I'm not trusting what is written anywhere else.

Magyar officially signs Monday, book it. The delay has been logistical.

Not sure when they'll make McInnis official, but it's coming in due time. Believe what you will.
