Guess he won't be "on alert" anymore and we won't have to listen to this

  • Combined GAA / SV% will be 2.43 / .912. You math geeks can point out what that represents and how ridiculous they are combined; I'm just tossing out projected numbers.
  • Zac Rinaldo finds religion and wins the Lady Byng.
  • Yann Danis will get at least 5 starts.
  • No Flyer will return from Sochi with a gold medal.
  • Both Streit and Timonen will miss 15+ games.
  • 2-3 catastrophic world events will occur that prompt a host of "that really puts things in perspective" for secondary issues such as hockey. We will pretty much all lose perspective once again within a month of this happening.

Snider ain't going nowhere (and shouldn't be) until he starts referring to Giroux as Clarke and Mason as Bernie. He's the best owner/chairman/CEO/whatever in the NHL. He pressured Homer into Bryz, ok. But other than that he has nothing but a positive effect on the franchise and the only thing he cares about is winning a Cup. You cannot ask for anythign more out of the owner/chairman/CEO/whatever of a hockey team.

It had merit and still does...too bad Holmgren doesn't see it but again this year it was b/c Holmgren himself played a part so it would have been an indictment on him. The year prior to last... Lavi got a mulligan b/c it was a transition year with the new players from the Richards and Carter trades which were actually done to give him a new lease on his shelf life. This year..no excuses will be left

Gagne gets resigned & continues to be mediocre while the majority of the fanbase still has their heads buried in the sand with the hype surrounding him.

2. B. Schenn shows up in spurts and finishes the season w/ 50 points (20 goals,30 assists) while playing LW and C on the top two scoring lines.
3. Emery starts off as the starter playing fairly well before getting injured (minor one). Mason then takes the opportunity and runs with it finishing top 10 in wins, sv %, and gaa.
4. Voracek wont keep up his 17.1 shooting percentage but will still manage to pot 23 and assist on 45 totaling 68 points.
5. Simmer is on pace for his first 30 goal season playing with Schenn and Vinny before missing 10 games with a concussion (puck to the head). Ends up with 23 goals, 19 assists while also knocking James Neal out cold with an uppercut right for taking yet another run at G.
6. Giroux will put up 87 points (32 goals, 55 apples) The nitpickers of this board will ***** and cry claiming he's not worth his contract because he couldn't hit 90.
7.The trend of Hartsy having a bounce back season and shutting up all the naysayers will continue. 27 goals, 25 assists
8. Vinny gives us 30 and 30 while sniping one timers from the right side on the 2nd PP unit with Schenn, Read, Streit and Couts.
9. Luke Schenn leads the league in blocked shots, hits and smashes Crosby through the glass (cleanly) causing him to miss time from lacerations and a shoulder injury. This will cost him the Art Ross and Hart trophy and Luke will be booed by 18,000 plus yinzers everytime he touches the puck again in ****tsburgh
10. Streit and Kimmo will lead the d in points but Gus will take a step forward and will recieve some of their PP time in order to help conserve their energy for the playoffs.
If only #9 comes true I'll still consider it a successful season. Best possible outcome other than a cup.

4) Couturier plays better offensively but worse defensively
5) Scott Hartnell rebounds putting up around 30-30 numbers, but Voracek does not continue to improve, putting up around the same amount of points he put up in the shortened season (50 or so)
6) Emery and Mason both put up decent numbers, but neither really impress enough to warrant a big time starting contract next year
7) Timonen's age really begins to show and he winds up hurting more than helping
8) Brayden Schenn plays lights out all year
9) Matt Read is traded at the deadline for either picks or prospects
10) Lavy is not fired
If the Flyers end up worse than the Devils then they won't be anywhere near the playoffs. NJ's going to be near the bottom this year.

I think his shot is good enough to break the 35 mark but his unwillingness to shoot at times will make it really hard to break the 40 mark. He's really unselfish for his own good at times.

Yeah I think if anyone is going to crack forty on that top line it would be 'ol Jake.

Yup, Jake would be my favorite to hit the 40 mark if anybody does next season for the Flyers.

I do think Giroux will break the 30 mark for the first time in his career next year though.

If Jake shoots near his career norms he would need about 400 SOG to crack 40 goals. He was pacing for about 220 shots last year. If his shooting regresses half-way to the mean, he'll still need almost 300 shots to crack 40.

Jake only needs 40 shots to score 40 goals.

1- The Flyers 5 on 5 game returns to form. They no longer rely only on the powerplay for goals.

2- The additions of Streit and Lecavalier lessen the leadership burdon on Claude Giroux, letting him return focus to just playing hockey.

3- Coburn and Timonen are reuinted as a defensive unit. Coburn returns to form because his security blanket has been returned to him.

4- Steve Mason's career is rejuvenated as a Flyer. He starts the season splitting time with Emery, but by Olympic break it is primarily his job. He takes the ball and runs with it.

5- The Flyers rely heavily on the blossoming duo of Luke Schenn and Erik Gustafsson. They pair to become a very solid all-around tandem.

6- Sean Couturier proves last year was indeed just a sophomore slump. He is the best 3rd line center in the NHL. His face-off percentage improves, all the while continuing his ascent as one of the top shut-down forwards in the league. His offense also trends upward, showing flashes of being a very good playmaker.

7- The second line of Brayden Schenn, Vincent Lecavalier, and Wayne Simmonds have stretches of brilliance where they carry the team offensively. They also have a few stretches where they struggle to contribute. Overall though, they become a top-tier second line in the league.

8- Zac Rinaldo builds off his strong season and continues drawing penalties and being a huge pest on the ice. He becomes one of the most popular players on the team. Flyers fans embrace him and recognize his unique skill-set.

9- Peter Laviolette rebounds after a dismal year of getting out-coached. He adds a few new wrinkles to both the offense and defense that cause frustration to opposing teams. This, along with the natural maturation of his young team, leads to a successful season.

10- One of the following Phantoms take a huge step forward in development and becomes a staple in the lineup by mid-season: Lauridsen, Noebels, McGinn, or Raffl.

I would say he's turned a lot of people into fans of him after last year. Most of these people were his biggest critics prior to that (myself included). Now there's still some people on here that hate him but I think that's mostly because they hate anything that resembles a physical type of game in hockey.

2) Couturier gets between 45-50 points and finds chemistry with Voracek and Lecavalier. Lecavalier is moved to wing and this second line becomes a very bright spot.

3) Schenn plays with Giroux for a majority of the year and gets about between 15-20 goals and 25-30 assists. Will be a bit of a disappointment. Simmonds hits 30 on the other wing, though, while Giroux goes at PPG pace again.

4) Laughton plays wing and plays well on the third line until Couturier gets bumped to the second line. At that point Laughton will get 3C duty and he will take off. Fans will love him by season's end.

5) Hartnell has another season like 2010. Will be a Briere on whatever line he's on. People will clamor for a trade before long.

6) Gustafsson breaks out gets 35 points while Streit disappoints and struggles to hit 30.

7) Flyers will overall be very successful and secure one of the top two seeds in the Met.

8) Our PP will be frustratingly bad to start the season. Will require total reconstruction, and Gustafsson will emerge as the top unit QB (hence breakout). Timonen and Streit will play PP2.

9) Read has an injury plagued year. Only plays about half the season.

10) One of Raffl, Straka, Akeson, or Noebels will become regulars by the end of the season.
I like 2,4,6, and 7

I have a feeling this will be Phaneuf. And I wouldn't mind. He'd come at a reduced price as a rental, and we'd get to renegotiate his deal to something more reasonable to his current level of play.

Unless he and Luke still have some beef...
What is this beef with Phaneuf I see about Luke? Its on here all the time just wondering.
