That's a weird bonus. Is NJ going to bench him for half a season if their finances aren't looking good?

Maybe he won't play the second game of back to backs.

Between periods, Jagr will head to the nearest bank branch to make sure his per-game cheque clears.

What's the repercussions of having a check bounce on a bookie?

It was a joke. Jagr is a big time gambler or at least was back in the day.

Dirty Work teaches me they throw you out of a speeding car, shoot of your toe, and then kill you anyways once you've paid them.

Luongo firing his agent is interesting. There is really no reason to do it besides his agent could not get a trade for him out of Vancouver. It's just speculation, but it kind of makes sense. His former agent(Luipen) still receives the money from his contract. Sportsnet.ca is speculating his new agents(Brisson and Barry) get some sort of bonus if they can facilitate a trade out of Vancouver for him.

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/m...uver/?shawct=1

Like I said all speculation, but does make some sort of sense. Why would a player with 9 years remaining on his contract get new agents?

That was another thought I had, but it is being heavily speculated now he is unhappy in Vancouver. He never wanted to return.

Also, everyone go over to the Giroux a top 5 center poll on the main boards. I put it in there also, but three players in the last three years have more points than Giroux, and they are Stamkos/St Louis/H.Sedin. Now only 4 average a better PPG than him in that same time span(Crosby/Malkin/Stamkos/St Louis). Anyone saying he isn't a top 5 center, are fooling themselves

It was a bump thread.

What reasonable argument is there to put Tavares over Giroux as far as Center's go. I don't understand the main board love affair. I think I need to just retire from anywhere but here.

You know he is so young and has all that potential, he was taken 1st overall. There is no way Giroux could be better than him. He does have the potential to be there soon, but right now, Giroux is the better offensive player, as well as all rounder player.

Offensively he's better, Defensively he's better, Tavares was in the top 20 2 years ago for giveaways and was #7 in the league last year for giveaways. Giroux's never been higher then 75th in the league. Faceoff's are night and day. 1 plays the PK the other doesn't.

Obviously, Incoming intangible's argument. Speaking of which Captain Intangibles himself is always ranked over him too which bothers me to no end. I would put Tavares over him.

You should post those stats over there. Also I love when people just ignore post that prove a player is better than the other, but still try to make an argument about it. Also he says Dats is better than Giroux..... not sure how he came up with that.

Giroux had more points than Tavares in a disappointing season for Giroux standards, the defense rest.

I'd take Crosby, Malkin, Stamkos, Datsyuk, and Toews over Giroux. But that's all. So 6th for me.
