Dencer's the kid no one took seriously in JH, HS and for some minor stretch probably post secondary too. But now he's got a show, a voice and an audience for better or worse. In all honesty I've probably only ever listened to him twice. I've met him before as well and he struck me as a total chump but then again I was highly intoxicated and by the same token I could be considered a total D bag lol. But seriously though... screw that show and no thank you to Tencer.

At least Tencer stands by what he says I honestly believe that one day he's gonna learn a lesson but he's not as bad as you guys are making him out to be. I actually find him and Rob Brown to be excellent post game sometimes down right hilarious. People that take personal shots at Tencer need to take a look at themselves in the mirror. Cause it's pretty low class to take shots at a guy over social media....

Ya I was able to catch the show today. It was excellent. I hope Strudwick gets a daytime slot sooner rather than later.

I don't think I've ever heard a sports commentator in my life that knew less about sports. I can't remember the last time Dan said anything that I considered even remotely insightful. Sometimes the questions he asks during interviews make me cringe, like last night when he asked Gagner if him insisting on a NMC demonstrated a huge step forward for the team because it was a player wanting language in his contract that would keep in him EDM when players in the past have asked to leave. This guy really doesn't have a clue what he's talking about. If this were a newspaper I'd say they should have him writing for another section like travel. With it being radio I would say he should be doing be covering a different kind of show. I know Dan has pretty strong, right wing political views. Maybe he should have a show like Rutherford's instead.

Im sorry? Hes an arrogant (for no legitimate reason), gutless puke who is extremely fortunate to be in the position he's in. And he's a huge jock sniffer who (predictably) doesn't have the nuts to criticize the Oilers, and prostitutes himself daily.
Yeah, he's bad.

Yeah, he's bad.
I don't think he's "gutless". Gutless people don't pick fights or back their **** up. I also don't know that he's "fortunate". By most accounts he worked his ass off from a very young age to get in the door.

He's arrogant and he's unlikable, and because of where he is, he'll always get stomped for being the company man. In his case, I think that's more accurate than when that criticism is assigned to Bob Stauffer.

Struds is hilarious and I love it when this guy is on the air, he gets the best out of his guests as well. Props to him and 1260 for getting things going.

He's becoming my fav on radio. Gets some really good guests as well. Has good stories with NHLers that I love.

I also give him credited on expanding his confidence. When he first was on the radio, he seemed a bit shy on non-hockey or non-edmonton sports. But now he talks with such confidence about everything.

Is there a way to listen to thr Iggy interview online? I see struds twitter said its on the website but i cant find it. I tried soundcloud but i dont see it on there either.

I agree though, Struds is quickly becoming the best host in town. Already better than Gregor. Imo

Dan Tencer is such a jackass referring to himself as a celebrity and posting up dumb videos of him in his Arizona vacation house with his "guest book he makes girlfriends sign". Really needs to be taken down a few pegs.

Strudwick is good stuff. I actually like Spector despite his print and TV ways, on radio I like the guy.

Where is Evan Daum going? First I assumed he was just leaving the Journal because of the dying of the newspapers, but Dave Campbell makes it sound like he's leaving Edmonton?

Evan Daum ‏@evandaum 32m
@ZenonHerasymiuk very excited to be working with him and the rest of the Tri-City staff. I'm eager to learn from that group.

Agreed, some of the best I've heard in a while, both guys are ridiculously engaging, and both stories were hilarious.

Dan out of inside...

Will never understand the assertion that he won't criticize the Oilers..same with Bob. If you listen, and listen actively, they are very critical...do they try to balance it with a positive perception sure, but they are even more critical than The Fan960 is of the Oilers.

Good on Dan though, and well earned...wonder who's the replacement?
