in my mind (and i'm biased - i'm not a fan of dineen but whatever your feelings are, i believe he's on a 3 yr contract and if so, tallon will need to make a decision soon), horachek seems like a guy brought in to the org to get a closer look. (perhaps weber was that guy the past two years and his clock has struck midnight.) could be totally wrong and this guy may not be destined for the NHL but i have a sneaky suspicion that tallon has realized that dineen has served a purpose but isn't the guy he wants behind the bench forever and is continuing his search for the next boudreau or bylsma. or at least i'm hopeful

coach dineen was #4 on the jack adams votings in '11-12, im not sure if KD is the problem, but yeah, i think he's just way too happy to get horacheck to not use him

i wonder if he's added that to his resume yet

i never said he's *the* problem, just that i don't think he's a very good NHL coach or at least hasn't shown it yet. i don't want to hijack the thread with the comment, tho (this has been discussed in other threads and i'm certainly in a small minority with this opinion). just throwing the idea of harachek as our next coach out there.

Crazier things have happened and he is overdue for the top job somewhere. I wouldn't read too much into it though, he has a long history with Santos and Weber and was a perfect fit in SA. At the end of the day it was more of a Santos move than a Tallon move IMO.

Nice write up, it will just be really weird without us playing against the Aeros.

Alignment for 13-14 season.

Not sure I understand why Charlotte is in our division when it should be Iowa.

I'm so happy that Charlotte is in the same division, that means more chances to see the Rampage play here in Charlotte. It's the next best thing to seeing the Panthers play!!

A question just popped in my head....What happened to Foster? He did relatively well as DGM's back-up last year...

Houser happened.

On Robak and Petrovic... at this point it seems like both will be up considering the Kuba buyout. Tallon intends to go young, so we'll see.

He's a free agent. Honestly, he was out of this world for about 6 periods, and absolutely terrible for the rest.

I think the Panthers (and by proxy, the Rampage) goalie situation is the most interesting thing to watch this offseason. They need someone, either at the NHL level to split time with Markstrom or a strong #3 to split time with DGM in San Antonio that can go up and be a backup if needed.

This seems more likely given the team being frugal right now, and Dale seems to be OK with going Markstrom/Clemmensen for this upcoming season.

Very good interview with Weber.

Also, I would be remiss if I failed to mention some heroes. Josh Sweeney, Rico Roman, and Jen Yung Lee of the Rampage sled hockey team were named to the U.S. team and will compete at the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Japan.
Needs to be changed to Russia.

If that lineup proves to be accurate, it appears as if this team will be very competitive. Good to see.

Good Lord I hope so. We tend to think we have a very competitive team every year, and then we hit the one, the dreaded, the evil............... November

Harvey Fialkov @hfialkov
Panthers sign former AHL All-Star F Philippe Cornet, 23, to AHL deal. Former 5th-rd. pick by Oilers will play for Rampage. #flapanthers

I like that we're making moves for SA. The kids need to be in a winning environment before they transition over to the NHL

If everyone, in FLA and SA, stay healthy, this team could be stacked.
