Bernier is a class act on and off the pitch.

As for the Gattuso comparison, as much as I'd love that, I highly doubt it .

Gattuso is one of my all time favorite players( despite him being Italian) and I can say without hesitation that no player compares to him. The guy is a simply a beast

Actually I think this is changing as well.

When Beckham became the first DP in 2007, there was a lot of copycat signings of big(ish) name guys to multi-million dollar contracts.

But as FO's gain experience with the process, there has been a greater diversity.

The smart teams are figuring out that one big name isn't going to change things. Toronto is the best example of how that's gone wrong.

In the past year we have seen more examples of guys getting sub-$1 million contracts, on players that are not amazing, but fit and augment the existing team.

Many teams know they are never going to use all 3 of their DP slots, so its not a "waste" to sign a $500k player.

the Swedish kid John Guidetti? He scored 20 goals in 23 games he was like 19 and now he cant even make the bench at Man City. Dempsey proved himself he is an accomplished scorer with Fulham now he is one of the top scorer of Tottenham. Bradley was a regular CM in 3 Different European Leagues and now plays with Roma alongside De Rossi. Altidore couldnt even score in some Turkish club IIRC. He doesnt suck but now he is back on track scoring 4 goals in 4 games (with US) I think. So There are plentyyy of options for American DPs.

Um Van Persie and Van Nistelerooy and every other great Dutch striker say hi.

And it's still a better league than the MLS, despite the fact that it loses its best players by the time they reach the age of around 22-23 max.

That guy already did coverage on Messi when he played in the Liga. He's gonna be a boss for us. Nuff said.

Out of subject: I hate to say it, but I'm slowly learning to like NDS.

I think Gattuso is a bad comparison. Seems more like a cerebral player like a Xabi Alonso a few classes below Xabi.

I'm sorry but that's just wrong. I would take all of them before Di Vaio and Bernardello. They're great players that could play in any of the top european leagues.

With that said, I really like the Bernardello signing, he's exactly what we've missed since joining the MLS.

U dont get it

I was comparing Altidore’s success to Dempsey’s saying Altidore can’t be better than Dempsey FTM because of huge quality difference in their respective league.
Thats like saying some Swedish top scorer league is better than Brad Richards.

Yeah, I'm not sure I like the Gattuso comparison from what I've seen. He's more of a Xabi Alonso, or David Pizarro type. More physical than they look and even a little dirty, but still more of a tactical player than a non-stop runner the way Gattuso was in his prime. Not in the same class as Xabi or even Pizarro of course.

I think free membership to CHez Parée would be a better offer for him.

Park on Pie-IX around Mont-Royal. Last Saturday I showed up around 7, and I found parking easily.
