On a serious note, Lambeau Field is actually a great place to enjoy the game. There isn't a bad seat in the house. It's a pretty unique atmosphere. When you get to Green Bay, you wonder how the hell that market can support a professional sports franchise, but it is cool. All you Bears fans should go there once in your lifetime.

Not really...everyone knows they're basically the Milwaukee Packers. Plus anyone who understands the NFL's business structure knows that local fan support is largely irrelevant to their operations.

It's a shame you can't appreciate the history of the game.

I think sitting on a cold iron bench in the middle of bufu wisconsin with a bunch of meathead packer fans is the last thing I'd want to do.

The only thing more annoying about hearing that is hearing how the St. Louis Cardinals have the best and smartest fans out of all fan bases. Enough is enough.

Of course they can support a team there. WTF else are those rednecks going to do in that town?

This is true, but it's quite surprising. The highest seating in the stadium is the highest point you can be in the county there.

Of course people drive from all over. It's only a couple hours from Milwaukee, a place you mentioned, and has that historical feel, so people will travel to see it just to say they went.

I went to Notre Dame Stadium and saw license plates from Missouri, Nevada, Texas, etc. People will always flock up there.

I wouldn't have even brought it up if I wasn't an idiot and just read a post that was quoted and the context of the response carefully.

I don't think any fans of the teams that play in Lambeau Field or Wrigley Field are opposed to any of the renovations that have gone on or that will be completed in the near future. The same goes for Fenway.

Fenway and Lambeau have done a great job with their renovations. If the Cubs can get Wrigley to follow in the renovation footsteps of those two great stadiums, it won't be a "complete pile of ****."

its been a complete pile of **** for a long time and up until the past year or so virtually all the cubs fans I know droned on and on about how historical it is and how they can't change it and how history makes it better than the cell despite the fact its a complete hole.

The sox have won as many world series in wrigley as the cubs

the bears have won more championships while calling wrigley home than the cubs

its a shrine to losing that cubs fans all close ranks around because all they have is "history"

You sure seem awfully upset about it, for a Sox fan.

Just saw your edit... dear lord you come across as butt hurt.

its a dump that's hailed as some sort of historical land mark

and its a dump that they've never even won in making it even more pathetic.

I've been to renovated Kauffman Stadium, AT&T Park, and Citizens Bank Park. Those places are simply awesome. AT&T Park is wonderful. I would never be opposed to them building a new, modern park somewhere. The thing is, though, that Wrigley is going to be modernized but still keep some historical aspects. I don't have a problem with it at all. I only would have had a problem leaving it. It's fine that the Cubs stay in Wrigley Field, but it needs to be upgraded. Well, upgrades are coming, so it's going to continue to be a great place and will become even better in a few years.

Were your parents killed by a falling piece of cements inside Wrigley or something?

I just can't grasp my head around someone hating a stadium of another team, that they barely even play, so much. It's hilarious.

I really don't even care anymore, baseball is dead to me, but I read and box score watch the Cubs out of habit. You're making yourself look like a clown.

So may people agree with you, madgoat. That's why the White Sox consistently get around 2/3 the Cubs' attendance at best.

I think he was accidentally dropped in the outfield basket as a baby.

Yeah, in the early 2000s I would have been upset over major renovations. At this point, blow the ****er up and throw a dome over it like Michael Barrett suggested.
