Packer logic
It was just a picture of the scoreboard of a game I was at. I see where you're coming from now. I'm sorry the Bears lost.

What's so awful about the Cell to you? Yeah, it was pretty crappy 10 years ago, but with the renovations they've done it's a very nice place to watch a game now.

Not even close to what I'm arguing either.

lol patently false.

Could have been better for sure, but to say they did an awful job is the height of stupidity/bias.

It has no character. It's not a bad place to see a game, but there's just nothing outside of the actual game that draws you there. A lot of the modern parks have a lot of unique features, and the old parks have history, tradition, and some things you won't see ever again. The Cell is stuck in the middle.

As a Southsider I go to the cell many times a year, probably more than I go to Cub games. It's a nice place, nothing special (but who cares) to watch a game. It's a rather convenient place to get in and out of.

The Cell was done horribly. It's a pretty mediocre ballpark, not much better now than Wrigley and definitely won't be after renovations.

yea because you know, winning the first WS in almost 90 years for an entire city provides no history.

There's no history for you because you don't want their to be any. And besides, how many 20yr old stadiums have much "history"? As for unique feature, what about the steep nosebleeds that are oft the target for (really the only legitimate) criticism?

not much better now than wrigley? Please. Either you've never stepped foot in the cell or you're flat out delusional.

Outside of the amount of plant growth on the outfield wall literally everything about the cell is superior.

Unless you like old style I guess.

Oriole Park at Camden Yards was done around the same time as the Cell.

This is an argument I'm torn on. I like the fact that a place like the Cell offers good beer and food, but on the other hand, I don't go to a baseball game for my fix of craft beers and gourmet food. Not to mention craft beers can be expensive enough in a bar, let alone when they're only even further marked up in a stadium.

- Food
- Bathrooms
- Accessibility to upper levels
- Concourses
- Accessibility to the ground from the upper levels (took me 45 minutes to get down the ramps at Wrigley last year)
- Accessibility via car

All things about USCF that are superior

You can blame the State of Illinois for not accepting that design. The Sox were offered it first, it was going to be across the lot where Armour Square Park sits facing northbound. The state was too cheap to fund it.

I've been to the Cell. It's nothing special. Like I said before, a mediocre ballpark.

yea its nothing special, but as far as the actual facilities go its so far past wrigley, its comical to even compare the two.

The last point is about the area, not the park, but your other points are correct. Wrigley lacks where the Cell thrives in a few areas, but I think most people around the country prefer Wrigley. Could that be mostly due to perception of the park because of the historical aspect? You know, it's very possible, but it is what it is.

I meant to put that with done horribly. Since the improvements it is indeed much better, no doubt about that. Still mediocre though.

You can't be better at food twice.

And IU, I didn't know about the city being to cheap for the design the Orioles got. That's very interesting. That must have been around the time where one of the Sox and Giants almost went to Tampa, Florida.

not sure the sox every really had plans to move. I'd guess they just needed the leverage to get a new stadium.

The Cell isn't anything special but Wrigley is a ****ing dump compared to it and the food has always been a big plus for the Cell as well. Again, I love Wrigley, but it badly needs this renovation. It should be among the best parks in the game afterward. For now, it's just too run down and it's a shame it got to this point because of those idiots living around it but better days are ahead.

I expect they'll do a good job with the renovation. Haven't been to a cubs game since 09, and will almost certainly go to at least one after renovation is finished. pretty pumped for it honestly since wrigleyville>>>>>>>>>>southside for after game purposes and I have multiple friends who live kinda close to the area.
